MS in Analytics - Batch of 2024
3.7
The faculty is great, understanding and helps you to excel in your academics.
Tips: Students should be ready for all kinds of experiences. The college has a very good resource and nice staffing. The college even provides you with free mobile transport passes, but in the end, the city is very scary, and I would suggest staying away from downtown or at least in a community where there are a lot of people who are not from your race.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Good faculty in the course that I have taken. The assignments are tough, but due to a lot of students around and resources to get from the universities, as well as the lecture video and the class lecture, it is easier for one to understand what they are doing, and if you come from a place of zero experience, in the course you are in, you can clearly express it with the instructor given the fact that you are interested, and they will definitely help you out.
Dislikes (Safety): The city with the most reported crime in the US is St. Louis City, which has a lot of people with coloured backgrounds, so the number of homeless people and the number of jobless people with minimum salaries are very high in the city, leading to different kinds of crimes but not any daylight robberies.

Interesting and a unique experience to cherish.
Tips: SLU is very historic and even the campus is structured in a very medieval manner which adds to its appeal. There is a wide variety of courses and programs offered and courses are quite research intensive as well. The faculty is helpful and understanding. However, it might not be the best fit for everyone so it's important to keep an open mind.

It provides one of a kind learning experience.
Tips: Before you arrive on campus, it is better to give yourself a margin of a week to settle down in terms of time zones, demography, etc. There are also special student services portals you can use to help you out in a variety of situations from documents to class registration.

Hard to manage
Tips: The offer letter says part time jobs are given at campus. But they are not available for two years. I am hoping to get it but we cannot get SSN without an offer letter. And it is hard to manage without credit here in the US. Very hard to maintain all the rules.
Likes (Public transportation): There are no direct options to travel. We need to change the means of transport every now and then. The college provides a transport card which is free to use until a year.
Dislikes (Part time work): No part-time opportunities in college for a year and yet no offer letter until now. It's hard to manage studies and assignments and for non-cs background students. Taking cs is difficult. Come well prepared as there are no jobs offered on campus

All rounder college with great opportunities.
Tips: Students should know that UTA offers a good academic environment with a strong focus on research and practical learning; however, they should be prepared to take initiative, manage their time effectively and utilise campus resources proactively. The campus is diverse, but academic expectations are high. The faculty at UTA is generally well qualified, knowledgeable and experienced in their respective field. Most professors demonstrate a strong command of the subject matter and are committed to student learning. However, there is still room for improvement in areas such as real-world application, interactive learning or consistent teaching quality across all courses.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The USA does offer clear pathways to permanent immigration, but the process can be long, competitive, and uncertain. There are strict quotas and legal challenges involved, especially for international students who want to stay after graduation. The college provided some support, but navigating immigration options can still be complex and stressful.

A globally enriching and academically supportive university experience.
Tips: Before joining this college, students should know that the university offers a highly supportive academic environment with access to excellent resources, skilled faculty, and a diverse student community. Time management and active participation in both academics and extracurricular activities are key to making the most of the experience. It's important to be open to collaboration and cultural exchange, as the campus is very international and interactive. The campus offers a vibrant, inclusive, and engaging environment. My day typically starts with interactive lectures, followed by group study sessions, club activities, or simply relaxing in common areas with friends. What I enjoy most is the balance between academics and extracurricular life. The university regularly hosts cultural fests, technical symposiums, workshops, and networking events, ensuring there's always something exciting happening. I actively participate in events related to robotics and teach innovation. Many student-led clubs, such as the AI & Robotics Club, the Debate Society, the Photography Club, and the Entrepreneurship Cell, foster creativity, leadership, and collaboration among students.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): The professors in my department are not only well-qualified and knowledgeable, but also extremely approachable and supportive. They encourage open discussions, make complex topics easy to understand, and are always available during office hours or via email for doubts or academic guidance. What stands out in their teaching methodology is the strong focus on practical learning through case studies, real-time problem solving, and interactive sessions. The faculty also adopts modern tools like digital simulations, flipped classrooms, and blended learning techniques. Moreover, the department is enriched by a diverse teaching staff from various nationalities, bringing a wide range of global perspectives to the learning environment.

Fun campus, amazing courses, great faculty, moderately expensive, inclusive and diverse environment.
Tips: It's a completely new experience as things here are very different from how it was back in India. The luxuries and comfort are compromises but it also helps in building a stronger sense of independence and responsibility. The washrooms here are totally water-free, you only find hand-wash basis with water but other than that you have to carry a water bottle with you or succumb to using issues. But other than that there are not much of cultural shifts that one might notice on the surface level and one can easily get going with the culture here. I am quite satisfied with the university and course that I've selected since I found some amazing professors who teach most professionally yet make sure that everyone understands what they teach. I would 100% recommend my course to anyone from a Math or Computer Science background.
Likes (Quality of faculty): Faculty members at UTA are great. They are well experienced in their field of study and have an amazing teaching style which makes it easy for students of any kind to understand. They have a more practical approach towards teaching rather than the effective traditional theoretical methods. Faculty members are easily approachable in their offices and can also be easily contacted via emails and Microsoft Teams. They give prompt replies and are available to help whenever needed.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The city of Arlington does not have any public transportation. While the university has its own shuttle service called Mav Move which is free for the students, computing within the city is a little hassle as Uber and Lyft are quite expensive. There are cheaper options compared to Uber and Lyft like 'Arlington Transportation by Via' which is limited only to the city of Arlington, student rideshare is the most commonly opted medium of transport by students for integrity transportation.

UTA: Nurturing success in a diverse environment.
Tips: Research UTA's academic programs, student community and support systems before enrolling. There were clear cultural differences at 1st it was difficult for me but now I'm used to it. UTA also has merit-based scholarships you can apply online and at the office as well. Overall, I'm satisfied with the university.

Thriving at UTA : A satisfying journey.
Tips: Before joining UTA, students should research its academic programs and campus environment. For me, moving to UTA was easy and I got some good friends. UTA offers scholarships based on academic records and unfortunately, I didn't receive any scholarship. Overall, I'm highly satisfied with UTA and UTA offers excellent academic programs and has good faculty.
Likes (Indian Food): I rated 4 for the availability of food options from my country of origin there are many Indian restaurants in the city ranging prices of budget-friendly to upscale dining. Not only Indian you also find Mexican, Chinese, Italian, and many other cuisines. I enjoy eating out and also cooking at home.
Dislikes (Public transportation): I rated 4 because UTA's campus has convenient access to various modes of transportation including nearby bus stops. Public transportation is affordable and reliable, connecting the studies to different parts of the city, and enhancing convenience and accessibility.

One of the best universities!
Tips: Students should know how the university is for their specific majors. It’s a good university for a student who doesn’t want to have a lot of stress during the course of study, but eventually you will gain enough knowledge to land up a good job that you desire.

Sometimes staff used to be very rude to students
Tips: Students should know before joining this college is that some teachers will not talk to you nicely. They will always be rude no matter if you have done something wrong or not. And there is some lack of infrastructure in sports facilities. Student will get internship very easily in this college.
Likes (Internships): I rate high on internships because I got internship from my university very easily and out of 100 students 90 students easily get internship from University. The only thing student have to do to get internship is that they should have average communication skills.
Dislikes (Value for money): I rated low on value for money because I think University can improve the staff. Sometimes staff used to be very rude to students and they don't listen to students, what students want to ask them. And University should also improve sports facility for students.
