Management MSc - Batch of 2024

Avoid studying in high ranked universities in places like London
Tips: Avoid coming to the United Kingdom or London, there is a housing and eco-crisis going on currently, opportunities are very limited. Go to places like the Netherlands or Germany instead. There are hardly opportunities for everyone. There is no global exposure also, UK is filled with Indians.
Dislikes (Value for money): Definitely not a value for money, professors arena like the Indians ones, everything needs to be done on our own! Engagement opportunities are minimal, it's just restricted to two floors. Lack of practical exposure and you still get tested based on examinations.

Excellent master's programme, with a strong quantitative bent.
Tips: The programme is very intense and students spend at least 60-70 hours per week on the programme. It is an excellent programme that will benefit students for many years to come. Obtaining a scholarship can greatly help in managing expenses. Nevertheless, I find such a programme a good investment as it will benefit students in diverse career trajectories throughout their careers.

UCL – A world-class experience in the heart of London.
Tips: If you're looking for world-class education, unforgettable experiences, and career-ready skills, you've come to the right place. UCL is the launching pad for success in London. Beyond academics, extracurricular activities thrive here. There are more than 200 student societies, including the Afghan Society, AIESEC, and Amateur Boxing Club. With the variety of activities available here, there is something for everyone. Cultural fests, hackathons, and guest lectures keep campus life vibrant, so you will always have something to do outside of class.
Likes (Safety): UCL has strong industry ties, and its career support helps students land roles at top firms worldwide. In addition, the fact that the university is situated in London opens doors to a wealth of networking opportunities with startups, multinationals, and research institutions. In terms of facilities, the campus infrastructure is phenomenal, with top-notch offerings across the board. It's a place that makes the most of the space, from the historic Bloomsbury campus to the cutting-edge UCL East at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The libraries, labs, and collaborative workspaces provide an environment that encourages innovation, while the brand-new Marshgate building provides top-of-the-line labs for students in fields such as engineering and robotics.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): Studying at University College London (UCL) has been an incredible journey! The faculty here is truly supportive. Professors are not just experts in their fields but also approachable mentors who encourage critical thinking and hands-on learning. Whether it's through office hours or interactive lectures, they make sure students grasp complex concepts with ease.

UCL demands academic rigor, fosters global opportunities, diverse culture, with high London costs.
Tips: Before joining UCL, students should know that UCL demands high academic rigour, a global reputation, and a diverse, international community. Located in central London, living costs are high, and independent learning is key. UCL also offers many extracurricular and career opportunities frequently and I advise the students to participate in it and try to build connections as it will significantly help for professional growth. Overall, I am satisfied with the course, university and the country.

Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievements prior to joining the university.
Tips: The culture of Dubai, where you'll find everyone from different countries and other cultures, is considered one of the best things about Dubai. Everyone will be treated equally regardless of their nationality, religion, etc. Scholarships are awarded based on academic achievements prior to joining the university. As Murdoch is fairly new to the Dubai market, the campus, compared to others, is smaller in size. Nevertheless, the community is strong among the students as everyone is well-connected with each other. The teaching faculty is very diverse, as there are professors from all around the world. Dubai is constantly growing. As the city competes with other world markets, the opportunities and quality of life continue to rise. As someone who experienced school in both India and Dubai, I can honestly say that I prefer Dubai and would highly recommend that students who are looking to migrate choose Dubai.

The campus offers modern and small classes, offering a more personalised learning experience.
Tips: Before joining Murdoch University, students should have an idea that it offers a globally recognised AUS degree in a supportive and multicultural environment. The campus offers modern and small class sizes, offering students a more personalised learning experience. The university hosts various workshops, networking sessions and career expos, which will help students in finding jobs. There is no option for having a PR in the UAE, however, you can search for jobs during your university course to find a good, sustainable job that will provide an employment visa to stay in the country even after your graduation. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Value for money): Murdoch is offering one of the cost-efficient courses without a requirement for compulsory work experience. When compared with its contemporaries and the options provided in terms of early bird discounts and general discounts available, it is a no-brainer.

Excellent place for learning and growth.
Tips: Things that were different were that classes are only 3 days a week or max 4 days, and I can customise my classes and units, so if someone doesn't want to do Math in my semester, they can do it next semester in September. Another thing is that it's mostly application-based learning, so memorizing concepts won't help to succeed unless a student understands what's going on. I got a scholarship, and it is given on the basis of grades scored in the Board exam. The more grades a student gets, the more scholarships the university offers. I am fully satisfied with my university as it teaches my subject cybersecurity from basics to advanced covering both theory and practical. I am also satisfied with the UAE because Teach events are held every 2-3 months, where big organizations come. That's helpful for students to gain mentorship from experts.
Likes (Post study jobs): I spend my day in college by watching pre-recorded lectures and reviewing the lecture material before going to the lecture so that I can engage in the lecture according. Then I attend my lecture, ask questions and then meet my friends and talk with them. I enjoy going to college, tech events such as Hackathon and CTFS, where I collaborate with my friends and professors. My college organises events every month, some are related to tech, while others are related to other majors, such as business. Also, Guest lecturers are invited who are in the industry and working as leaders. There are the Tech Club, Gaming club, Chess Club, etc.
Dislikes (Public transportation): The faculty are highly qualified, and they are ready to help students anytime they approach them. If we have doubts, we can simply approach them and clear our doubts. The teaching involves practical learning as the concepts that are taught in lecture, we apply the same in the labs, and it also includes active participation in class by conducting activities and group discussions among students. Also, the professors use Analogies to explain challenging topics in IT. The teaching team is very diverse from all around the world, my professors are from Egypt, Australia, the USA, India and many other countries around the globe.

My university is great and love the diverse environment here.
Tips: My experience at the university has been truly enriching and transformative. The academic environment is both challenging and supportive, encouraging students to push their limits while providing the resources needed to succeed. The professors are knowledgeable, approachable, and genuinely invested in their students' growth, often going beyond classroom teaching to mentor and guide. The campus is vibrant, with a wide range of clubs, events, and activities that foster a strong sense of community and belonging. The campus offers a vibrant atmosphere where there is always something happening, making it easy to feel connected and engaged. A typical day for me involves attending lectures, studying at the library, grabbing coffee with friends, and participating in club meetings or events. I truly enjoy the diversity of activities available from academic seminars to cultural festivals, which make every day exciting and different. What I enjoy most about my college life is the sense of community; it feels like a second home where friendships, creativity, and learning all come together. The campus organises a wide variety of events such as career fairs, music concerts, sports tournaments, cultural days, and wellness workshops. I try to participate as often as possible, especially in events related to leadership development and cultural celebrations. They offer a great way to relax, network, and learn outside of the classroom. There are also many student clubs and communities on campus, including academic clubs, debate societies, cultural associations, volunteer groups, sports teams, and special interest groups like photography, coding, and entrepreneurship clubs. I am a member of a few, and they have been a huge part of my growth, both personally and professionally. Overall, the opportunities to get involved, meet new people, and explore different interests are what make student life at my university truly exceptional.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): While the university offers decent support in this area, there is still room for improvement. The university provides general information sessions and workshops about immigration pathways after graduation, and the international student support team helps answer basic queries. However, the guidance often feels quite generic and not tailored to individual circumstances. Many students, especially international ones, require more personalised and detailed advice regarding permanent residence options, local job markets, and immigration policies. The career services team does try to connect students with potential employers who may offer sponsorship, but these opportunities are somewhat limited and highly competitive. Additionally, while some academic programs align well with in-demand occupations needed for immigration pathways, this is not consistently highlighted during course selection or career counselling. Overall, the resources provided are useful for those who are proactive and know what to look for, but students who are familiar with the immigration process may feel a bit lost. A more structured, comprehensive approach, such as partnerships with immigration consultants, targeted workshops for different countries' policies, and mentorship programs with alumni who have successfully navigated settlement, would greatly enhance the support offered.
