University of Limerick : The heart of Ireland's academic scene.
Tips: It took some time for me to adjust according to the weather as it's cold and dry most of the time. I observed many friends complaining about less vegetarian options available, but it didn't bother me as I mostly consume non-veg. People here are polite and would help if asked for. I got approved for a scholarship offered by the university, it was around 1500 euros. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my course, university and country as it offers security, quality and options to excel forward.
Likes (Safety): The campus is the safest place because it has UL security and emergency points located throughout. The city area is safe and I have not faced any security concerns to date. Just be careful if you are new to that particular area before travelling late at night.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are a number of Indian restaurants, including Aura, Swaad, and Bamboo, in the area, but you'll probably end up doing a fair bit of cooking on your own if you're on a budget. Eating out every day can get pretty expensive. I found a nice balance between the two, though. There are some good options for stocking up on groceries, too. Aldi, Tesco, and Lidl are all good options that should take care of most of your needs.

Good university experience if you are financially stable.
Tips: This is my first time experiencing solitude in my whole life. It helps me learn a lot of things in life, like how to live alone. Ireland's culture is so calm and peaceful. Campus will have restricted access to important places, and meeting rooms will need your student ID card to access. Security is available to protect you at all times, and it's fully monitored 24/7. I have not faced any security issues in Limerick, and I've had many late nights out. I got a standard scholarship for 1,500 euros when I was admitted. Overall, I'm satisfied with the course, university and the country.
Dislikes (Part time work): There are opportunities for on-campus part-time jobs, such as working as a teaching assistant or a guide during events. However, opportunities are limited to short-term positions. Off-campus options are also limited. Depending on the students' academic schedule, some may only have time for a couple of days of work per week. All legal jobs require payment according to government regulations, so if you do have a registered job, you can expect to earn at least 12 euros per hour. The University is in Limerick County, which has a smaller population than most other countries, so there are limited options to pick from when it comes to off-campus part-time employment opportunities.

Beautiful country with lots of attractive and peaceful places.
Tips: I have met people of diverse cultures and it is always fun having to interact with them. The college has career fairs, but they are very few in number. It provides some jobs, but you’ll need to apply for them online through Indeed. The job demand for computer science is low, but there’s high demand for finance, law, nursing, and civil engineering, with especially many opportunities for nurses in Ireland. I got a 2500-euro scholarship, but tuition is still quite high. And I don't suggest this course, since it's too popular. That said, I'm happy with the university and the country.
Likes (Public transportation): The transportation here is public and there are buses from different companies available. The buses are very safe and they provide good amenities, like seating, charging ports, and cameras focused on safety. The fare is affordable, which is a nice bonus.

A friendly knowledge gaining university.
Tips: Before you enter the college, be aware of the courses, the available job opportunities for those courses, the available scholarships, and the part-time job possibilities. You’ll also need to check your accommodation availability before you enter. Once you’re here, make sure you mingle with the local people and be aware that religious culture may be different here. Post-study job searching takes quite a bit of work, and your chances are heavily dependent on your skillset. I know that most of the available jobs are for undergrad roles, and salaries start at 30,000 Euros/year with potential for raises. The jobs are mostly for software, but from what I've learned, there's a good job market for civil engineering as well. Overall, I am highly satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty at this university are very good and very friendly. The teaching process is very effective, like practicing in class. We can access the library both offline and online, and can avail the course materials from an app. The university provides useful equipment free of charge. Overall, the experience has been good.

Amazing experience with minor flaws but friendly locals.
Tips: Students should try to gel with the people, be oriented, and understand that fluency is key. You can avail of scholarships if you have a decent grade in your 12th standard, ranging anywhere above 89 percent. Public transportation is very limited, especially in Limerick where only buses are available. The bus service also isn’t ideal as it isn’t punctual, buses often get cancelled or delayed, and they’re so few and far between that you often have to wait hours. Plus, if you do opt for a taxi, it will cost you about 30 euros on average. Currently, I am working, and this credit goes to the University of Limerick. UL helped me find this internship, and the university also has an Erasmus exchange program all over Europe and America as well. It is worth it to visit Ireland, but I would also recommend that you gain some experience before coming here. Overall, I am satisfied with my course and the university but not so satisfied with the country.

Tips: Before joining the University of Limerick, students should know that it offers a great balance between academics and student life. The campus is beautiful, well-equipped, and has excellent sports and recreational facilities. However, finding accommodation can be challenging, so it's best to secure housing early. The transition to life here was smooth overall, but there was a noticeable cultural shift. The Irish are very friendly and welcoming, but the teaching style is more independent compared to what I was used to. Also, the weather can be quite unpredictable, so be prepared for rain. I didn't avail of any scholarships, but UL does offer various merit-based and need-based scholarships. It's best to check their official website or contact the admissions office for details. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my university, my course, and the country. The M.Sc. in Software Engineering is well-structured, with a mix of theoretical and practical learning. Ireland is a great place to study and has good career opportunities, especially in the tech industry.
Likes (Safety): The University of Limerick has an active and vibrant campus with plenty of opportunities beyond academics. The social scene, clubs, and events ensure there's always something happening, making student life enjoyable and engaging. Dislikes (Public transportation): The professors in the M.Sc. in Software Engineering programme at the University of Limerick are highly knowledgeable and experienced. They bring both academic expertise and industry insights, making the learning experience practical and engaging. The faculty is quite accessible and approachable. They encourage students to ask questions, schedule office hours for one-on-one discussions, and actively respond to emails. Many also provide constructive feedback on assignments and projects, which helps in skill development. One unique aspect of the teaching methodology is the emphasis on independent learning and research. Many modules involve hands-on projects, case studies, and real-world applications rather than just theoretical concepts. The university is nice but experience may widely depend on the course you take.
Tips: The University of Limerick offers plenty of opportunities for students to grow and experience international life. However, most of the courses are only one year long, and the content is very condensed. This makes for a lot of stress, as students try to cover a huge amount of material in a short amount of time. Additionally, living on campus is expensive.
Likes (Safety): The University of Limerick has good safety measures on campus, and the public is generally safe. There is no violence or evident racism, but kids of a certain age outside the university can be troublesome. Otherwise, I felt safe almost everywhere I went.
Dislikes (Permanent Immigration): The University of Limerick offers very nice job opportunities, but mostly for experienced people in certain domains. They accept only 30% of immigrants in corporations, and it is difficult to get my resume shortlisted. The long interview processes in general do not prefer students holding stamp 2 or stamp 1G visas.

Tips: 1. Campus Life: UL has a large, beautiful campus with modern facilities. There are plenty of places to study, hang out, and enjoy nature, like the River Shannon and Plassey Bridge.
2. Student Accommodation: There are on-campus and off-campus housing options. On-campus accommodation can fill up quickly, so apply early. Off-campus housing is also available but may need more research to find a good spot.
3. Clubs and Societies: UL has many clubs and societies for sports, hobbies, and interests. Joining them is a great way to make friends and learn new skills outside of classes.
4. Library and Study Space: The UL library is a great place for studying and research. You can also find quiet rooms or group study areas around campus.
5. Support Services: UL offers help for students, including academic support, mental health services, and career guidance. Don't hesitate to ask for help if you need it.
6. Transport: There are buses to and from Limerick city, but many students prefer to walk or cycle around the campus. It's easy to get around UL by bike or on foot.

Additional, the university organizes events throughout the year, such as cultural festivals, concerts, and social gatherings, which make student life exciting and dynamic. The only reason I didn't give a perfect score is that while there is a lot to do, some services or activities can get crowded or competitive due to high demand. Nonetheless, overall student life at UL is lively and offers a great balance of academic and social experiences.
Dislikes (Internships): I rated 3 for internships because, for masters students, the process of finding and applying for internships is primarily self-driven. You are responsible for searching for relevant opportunities, submitting applications, and going through the interview processes independent. While the university does provide some guidance, such as career fair, workshops, and resume-building sessions, the bulk of the effort fall on the student. This can be challenging, especially for international students who may not be as familiar with the local job market or hiring processes. In contrast, for Bachelors students at the University of Limerick, the internship process is more structured and supported by the university. The university Cooperative Education programme helps match students with potential employers, simplifying the process significantly. For Bachelors students, the university takes an active role in facilitating internship placements, providing a more seamless and guided experience. Overall, the internships available can be relevant to your field of study, but the level of support and ease of finding one depends largely on whether you're a Bachelors or masters student. For masters students, while there are opportunities, you must be proactive and prepared to handle the application process independent.

Tips: Students should have some prior experience in their respective fields if they want to come to Ireland. The weather in Ireland is very unpredictable so better prepare yourself for the wind and cold weather. There are many people from India coming to Ireland so you will find some shops with Indian masala and food. The Irish culture is very warm and welcoming so you will like the people of this country. I did not get any scholarship and my classmates got a maximum of 1500 Euros as a scholarship on their total tuition fees. The University gives it to the student while applying and the criteria are the students should get at least 65% marks in their previous graduation. I'm very satisfied with the university, course and country as this country has all the necessary things that you need while staying here.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is very frequent and the students here get an extra discount on these buses. You just have to get your leap card from the university. There are several buses between the university and the city centre. Majorly, bus numbers 304, 304a and 310 are buses which I usually take. For students, these buses are very cheap, hence affordable and convenient. Most of the students here purchase a bicycle from the store and use it to travel. The university also provides bicycles for certain prices. But these are very cheap as compared to other retail shops.
Dislikes (Part time work): We do get part-time opportunities on-campus in the form of Lab assistant or Teaching assistant. We also have the option to work in a campus store with different job roles. If I talk about off-campus, there are several part-time opportunities, like working in bars, stores, etc. You just have to make your part-time resume and deliver it to the store managers. We are only allowed to work for 20 hours per week, which helps us to not indulge in part-time jobs and concentrate on our studies. We get free time in the afternoon to do our studies. Average part-time jobs will get you a minimum of 12 Euros.

Tips: The university is good, studies are more application and research-oriented, and there are a lot of assignments and projects. Overall, the course is good, and people are friendly. The weather is bad, gloomy, cold and sometimes depressing. You can find crimes happening in Limerick City, but the campus is safe.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The faculty members are specialized in their fields and have relevant experience. They are easy to approach, and the teaching methodology is mostly research and application-oriented. Exams are less important than projects. If your course is technical, then you will be studying with mostly 95% Indian or South Asian students.
Dislikes (Indian Food): There are very limited vegetarian food options available if you are planning to eat outside. And eating outside is not affordable. There are a lot of options available in terms of restaurants for eating outside, mostly non-vegetarian food. A full meal can cost at least 10 Euros.

Tips: Before joining this college students should know that the evaluation patterns are very different from India, and it is easy to follow through for students if they're genuinely interested in the course. Dedicated preparation for classes sticking to the submission deadlines and staying away from plagiarism will help you go a long way. The faculty is warm, welcoming and helpful so reach out to them for any query. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my course and college.
Likes (Student Life): The campus culture is very rich and vibrant. There are so many options for students to explore the country and have a good time. Numerous events are being organized every week to keep the students engaged, and a general sense of friendliness around the city. The student clubs range from sports to art and also cover activities like hiking, kayaking and more. Great options for students to explore sports.
Dislikes (Internships): There are only a few opportunities on campus, and those are awarded to the top performers in the course. Also, there aren't many relevant internships posted on job websites. This is a very competitive field, and it takes a lot of time to settle in. Previous work experience would be a big help.

My academic experience of thriving in a dynamic campus environment.
Tips: When I first came here, there was a bit of a transition period. Managing everything at the start was challenging, but over time, I got used to it. One cultural shift I experienced is how often people say 'Sorry' and 'Thank You' in everyday interactions, which is quite different from what I was used to back in India. Regarding scholarships, I received one that most students get after applying to the university. There wasn't much complexity in the process, it was a standard offering. I'm very satisfied with both my university and my course. The green campus is beautiful, and watching the Shannon River flow through the university is something I really enjoy. The course met my academic expectations, especially because I chose the statistical pathway to drive deeper into the mathematics behind machine learning models. My thesis collaboration with FSAI was particularly valuable, as it gave me industry-level experience.
Likes (Student Life): In college, I usually have 2-4 hours of classes each day. The rest of the time, I like to be in the edge computing room of the library because it has a dual monitor setup and a fast PC, which really helps me with my work. Many events are organized on campus, including celebrations for festivals like Diwali, Holi, Eid, and others. These events bring a lively atmosphere, and I enjoy participating whenever I can. As for student clubs, there are many to choose from, and I was part of the photography club, which allowed me to connect with many Irish people and build connections.
Dislikes (Internships): Although some guidance is available, the competition for these positions is extremely high, especially for non-EU students. The available internships tend to align well with my field of study, but companies often prioritize applicants with EU passports or Stamp 4 visas due to legal work eligibility requirements. As a result, securing an internship becomes more challenging for international students like myself despite having the necessary skills and qualifications.

Tips: This particular course won't make you market-ready, so be prepared for that. Also, be ready to search for a job and if you have taken a loan then it will take at least 3-6 months after your course ends. If you are not financially strong, find a part-time job as soon as you arrive in Ireland.
Likes (Student Life): The University of Limerick has one of the largest campuses in Ireland, and it's equipped with all the facilities students need. Students can participate in various sports and activities, and the campus is a great place to live. There are even pubs on campus, like Tables and Friday Nights, which definitely enhance the quality of student life.
Dislikes (Internships): The lack of internships available through the college is a downside for the Business Analytics course. The course will make you aware of the tools and technology used in the industry, but you should be prepared with the basics of the software you will be learning. This will help you to be one step ahead.

Tips: I have learned a lot more in core papers than I ever did during my undergraduate. The cultural shift is being kind and diligent to everyone no matter what and open to helping anyone. I didn't avail of any scholarships. I am satisfied with my university except for no internship or coop arrangements for Masters students. The country is very beautiful with nice people.
Likes (Student Life): We have two classes per day, one might be a lab class. I enjoyed the beautiful campus and thorough practical learning process. There are a lot of events organised ranging from technical to festive. The first Seven Weeks will be filled with different events and trips across Ireland. Since then, every Friday is International night, where one can network a lot.
Dislikes (Internships): The university has a careers page where you can find job postings however there are approximately zero internships. The most important downside of this university is that there are no proper internships or coop arrangements for Master's students, assuming Bachelor students have a chance.

Tips: Students should try to find accommodation close to the university if searching for off-campus. and all the amenities are pretty close to the university. I also received a scholarship of 1500 Euros. I am really satisfied with the university; however, the course could use some room for more improvement.
Likes (Quality of faculty): The quality and facilities of everything were good including the food and classrooms. There is also a grocery store named Spare on the campus, which is convenient for people living on campus. Also, the best thing about the university is its widespread and beautiful green campus.
Dislikes (Internships): There was no assistance or involvement from the college for summer internships, even though our course included an internship for the summer. I wish there was more focus in that area as it would have been beneficial, as finding a job is already really hard, especially if you are a fresher.

A University for the Integration of everything together.
Tips: I see that the Irish people talk too fast as it takes quite a time to understand their language. Similarly, people from other native English-speaking countries talk in a certain manner so in this scenario try to make local English-speaking friends and try to talk to them as much as possible so that you will learn how to carry out a conversation. If you apply for UL it will automatically check and grant you a scholarship of 1500 Euros. I love Ireland, and I would love it more once I get a full-time job. The University is also amazing, it has a lot to do. However, I feel the course I completed didn't help me learn anything. I also feel somewhere that I won't get a job for the Data Scientist position perhaps I will get one for my previous experiences.
Likes (Student Life): UL is full of fun, more than studies you will get to see something exciting every day on the campus. It is full of events and celebrations. The Post-graduation Student Union (PSU) is my favourite part here. They keep on organizing different events every other day on campus. There is a humongous group of societies that UL offers. It has every type of society of all interests. If a student is more of an extra-curricular person I recommend them to be a part of UL.
Dislikes (Quality of faculty): The faculty does not play a vital role in a student's journey here. The student has to decide their own future. No doubt the professor will always be at your back to answer any of your questions, but one should not expect spoon feeding from them. Most of the teaching methodologies here would be a combination of assignments, exams, projects, group projects, reports etc. The classes take place at the professor's convenience online or offline, some of the professors adopt a dynamic kind of teaching methodology where they only clear doubts of the students in the class and ask students to go through the notes at home. Most of the teachers here are Irish, and some of them belong to different countries such as Korea, Russia etc.

It’s a good college. Close to nature and beautiful to experience the Irish cultural.
Tips: There are many cultures in Ireland. You can experience the Irish culture and enjoy it. I got a scholarship for my course. They give out scholarships based on the marks from your previous studies. Depending on your marks, there are two types of scholarships. Ireland is the safest country in the world for students. I feel safe everywhere, inside and outside the campus, in the city, and even on public transportation. There are cameras everywhere, so the country is very secure. I really like that I don't have to worry about my safety. Even if I'm out alone at midnight, I feel completely secure. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): Many students get jobs after graduation. There are more job opportunities in business fields like accounting and management as well as medical and hospital jobs. We can get jobs in the engineering field as well. What I don't know is whether we will be sponsored to stay in the country if we get an offer. I know the visa only lasts for two years.

Tips: Transitioning here has been a significant experience and I have definitely experienced a cultural shift here. People have different accents here. Scholarships are available, so definitely apply for them. The course is good, but it moves very fast, so come prepared with the basics of all the subjects. Join different communities to get more exposure. Companies usually don't hire interns because the course is only one year long. You're busy with classes and part-time work. I'd definitely apply for internships, but I'm more likely to get one after I finish the course because I can only work 20 hours while enrolled. Overall, I am satisfied wth my experiences.
Likes (Public transportation): Public transportation is very good in Ireland. Buses are on time and cheap. The availability of transportation is also very good. The roads are built well. You have to get a student card from the university to get the student leap card. You can use this card to travel on buses and trains. Since you are a student, the cost of travel is 50% off.

The campus is well-structured. Faculty members are helpful and offer plenty of support.
Tips: Not quite satisfied with the course because I could have done it online or from my own country. The teaching and curriculum are the same here. I did avail a scholarship, but it was granted to all students in the course. It was a good decision, though, of coming here because I saw many changes in myself as a person. There are very few on-campus part-time jobs at my university. Students have to look off campus, which means they spend time searching for jobs, which isn’t ideal. The part-time jobs can be whatever they are, and sometimes they are easy and manageable, but other times they can be very difficult to manage. The average hourly wage is 13.50.
Likes (Safety): The campus is well structured, and safety measures are taken care of perfectly. We can roam around anytime, and it is very safe. Please do not take accommodation to far away areas else it might become hectic, especially avoid Ballybane. Try to rent near the college area as it is very safe.

Tips: The weather in Galway can be harsh at times, but it is also often pleasant. Apart from that, there are not many options for Indian cuisine when compared to Dublin, but you get used to it eventually. Even without Indian food, Galway is a very beautiful and less crowded city than Dublin. The university campus is peaceful and welcoming. People are very friendly and love to socialise. Tips: I have become more open-minded after seeing diverse people. My course offers a 2700 merit scholarship for all students. There are also two excellent scholarships that are based on profile and awarded to only two students. I enjoy attending university itself as it's very lively and useful. I go to the library to study there as it's well-equipped. Many DJ events are organized during festival times in Indian society. There are many student club societies for AI, entrepreneurs, etc. Overall, I am very well satisfied with the university, the course, and the country.
Dislikes (Value for money): The tuition fees were justified because the modules I was looking for were in this course, and that's why I chose it. I really think it's worth the money I spent and the knowledge I'm going to get from it. The course is well designed.

Tips: Be prepared for the climate conditions here. It’s very chilly and rainy and unpredictable, so you need to be prepared to layer up. Also, bring your umbrella, as you’ll be using it a lot. Also be prepared with vitamin D here, as summers here aren’t the same as in India. I prefer cooking myself as it is cheaper than eating out as restaurants are expensive and lack the local taste we expect. Ingredients are scarce here, so we need to be careful choosing them from Asian/Indian stores located far away as seen on Google. Overall, I am satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Student Life): The quality of teachers here at this university is excellent. The university also provides expert roles and assistance that help you grow. In addition, I love that we get to interact with each other through a variety of clubs and societies like football, F1, gaming, and AI. This aspect lets us learn and grow together, which leads to a better overall aspect of life.

Tips: Good for student life as a lot of activities are available. Indian society is very active here, so it's good to engage with fellow Indians here. Other societies are also active with events and engagement sessions, so you learn multiple things together. Some clubs like soccer, F1, and gaming societies are famous. One should mind the climatic conditions here and the course. I availed a normal scholarship, but it should be counted as a discount. The current market is down hope it turns up. Overall, very much satisfied with my decision.
Dislikes (Indian Food): Lack of good quality Indian restaurants, and also expensive for students here. Spices and Indian ingredients are expensive too so one should keep this in mind before coming here. Parcel are preferred but that expenses are to be note before hand too.

Tips: Definitely there are cultural shifts and climatic shifts concerning Indian students. General scholarship of 1,500 is available for all students, but would be applicable only when applied for it. Might face some issues regarding accommodation at the initial stage, so look out for one as soon as you land. The availability of part-time jobs is a little difficult since the Irish population prefers to provide references. This applies to both off-campus and on-campus employment. But once you get through this, you would receive a minimum of 13.5 euros per hour. Networking and communication are the key. Overall great university and friendly country and I am highly satisfied with my experiences.
Likes (Permanent Immigration): There are multiple options which are feasible for permanent settlement. Even though the tax rates might be high, the services that are available from the government for permanent settlers is quite good. My personal opinion, I would not like to permanent immigrate to this country.

Tips: Know what your course post-completion market looks like and be prepared to face rejection on job applications. If you have that figured out, then you can also be ready to face hardships on other general days, but you’ll have a great time enduring it if you can. Overall, it’s these new adjustments that help. The bus system here is not at all reliable. The time that is shown in the app and on Google Maps does not match the arrival time. Most of the routes are always delayed by 15-45 minutes. For countryside routes, the number of bus trips is very low. This will make you have to schedule your engagements around the bus timings. There's no issue with safety in Galway. You can do whatever you want in your life without disturbing the general public or norms. There is no need to worry even during late hours or early mornings. The only English words you'll need to speak a lot here are "thank you" and "I'm sorry".

Tips: The university is great and offers a variety of courses. However, the class size is too big for some courses, which affects teaching quality. The school can't fit all these students in a classroom, which also reduces the students' chances of getting a job. So, before you enrol, make sure you look into the class size for incoming students in that specific program. The city is very safe for everyone. Galway County is especially welcoming. It is filled with immigrants from around the world, and people are very friendly and kind to new arrivals. The campus is safe, and it is well-served by public transportation. There is also a free bus that transports students around the university grounds.
Dislikes (Post study jobs): For most companies in the IT field, it is very difficult to find a visa sponsor. The few companies that do offer them still require minimum work experience ranging from 3-5 years. Without that, your chance of securing a job is very low. The starting package for most jobs would be somewhere between 30,000 and 40,000.

Great academic potential but less job opportunity.
Tips: The Irish market is good, but basically, everyone is struggling for a full-time job. So it's much more competitive than it looks. But then again, if you have good experience and skills, there is a greater chance to succeed early. Apart from that, getting a part-time job at this point is also really difficult. For my part-time job, I have to walk around at night sometimes, even past midnight. But I never felt unsafe. There are lots of cameras around the roads, and people mind their own business. Plus, sometimes the Garda (police) visit random spots to ensure everyone's safety. Ireland is a country with a very small population. The number of international students is growing rapidly. The buses in Galway are always crowded, so people are forced to stand to reach their destination. The buses are usually half an hour apart, but they're always late. Overall, I am quite satisfied with my experiences.
