Tips: Saratov State Medical University is a great place to study. It has a diverse student body from over 30 countries and offers accommodation in dormitories for international students. However, you should learn Russian before coming here as it will be easy to communicate with patients and the local people. Saratov State Medical University has a huge campus and friendly people.
Tips: The main problem is food. We have to cook here. On campus, we need to travel by bus from one department to another. I didn't experience any cultural shift. The temperature can go down to minus 30 degrees Celsius. Public transportation can be quite unreliable. Buses sometimes don't come, and even when they do, you may have to wait for more than 40 minutes. This can be inconvenient and expensive, as you may have to book a cab. Additionally, there are some places that buses don't go. Overall, I am not very satisfied with my experiences.
Dislikes (Internships): Interns are expected to interact with patients, and it's hard to talk with patients and understand their problems if you don't speak the language fluently. If you knew Russian, it would be easier.

The university is budget friendly and most of the faculty communicated in English.
Tips: Please know that all courses in Russia are partially English, not completely English as some people say. The first three years are in English, and the last three years are in Russian. It's a lot to consider, but it's a lot of fun here, and there isn't as much stress as there is in India. You can connect with your faculty in case of any queries or doubts. Besides there are lots of activities held on campus so feel free to participate in it.
