Tips: I had a fairly smooth transition on coming here and I was not hit with a major culture shock either. My advice to upcoming freshmen would be to join as many clubs as they can and participate in whatever activities or sports cater to their interests as this is what the University of Texas is all about. The faculty is very helpful, friendly and understanding so you can reach out to them.

Tips: Students should know that they might get a temporary culture shock but that will not unnecessarily be a bad thing as people here might come off as more blunt or transparent but they are also equally kind and helpful. Talk to your supervisors and interact in classrooms. Campus life is also very educative and you are bound to learn a lot. Public transportation is affordable and accessible throughout the day, Overall, I am satisfied with the course, college and the country.

Tips: Living here has been a unique and beneficial experience for me and I am truly grateful for this part of my college life. On the other hand, jobs are minimal and immigration is becoming increasingly challenging so it would be a better idea to keep multiple options open.
