It is a good idea to have a laptop while doing BCA because you can practice and become proficient in programming language MS and computing technologies.

BCA as well as B.Tech (CS) are good courses for getting jobs in IT companies. But now a days most of the IT companies are looking out for B.Tech graduates, since it is a 4-year graduation. Doing PG (MCA) will be beneficial.
