DU-JAT is for getting admission in Bachelors. So, you just need to clear the concepts of maths up to class 12th.
The exam comprises of Maths questions in two types- logical/conceptual (basic) and numerical (somewhat difficult).

Yes, it does matter and usually is not ignored by the interviewers. Being a student or an alumnus of a reputed college always gives you that respect and creates a good impression of you among the interviewers as well as general public.

Some states and colleges give max. 45% criteria to SC, ST or category students but at 40%, it's a bit difficult.
