Yes if you crack the entrance you will get your desired college but you will not get direct admission in 2nd year as lateral entry to 2nd year directly is only allowed for diploma students not regular B.tech students. Hope you got your answer.

Ashok, according to the best of my knowledge, there is no college in all over India which provides a distance course in Diploma in mining.

It would be better to prefer IT directly in 2nd year instead of taking admission in 1st year. Computer has a higher cutoff so preferably apply for both but in my opinion 1st year is slightly difficult, so why waste a complete year.
