You should go for economic (Hons) programme but for that, you need to check the eligibility and admission process in different universities because this is a premium programme and every university having own percentage cut-off in the eligibility.
A minimum of 60% in math or economics is required in most of the universities and some good universities required more than that.

Economics is a very essential subject in case if you are from commerce and arts and humanities stream. You won't be able to seek admission in any of the colleges to pursue a course until you clear your compartment exam. Go ahead and face the exam. Give your best shot and come up with flying colors.

Though you can apply before you clear your compartment, but admissions are also on merit basis so chances are tricky with compartments if your overall percentage is not high.
