If you think you will achieve your goal after a drop then you should go for it. But if you have doubt about it, then you should not take the risk. And if you are getting Thapar, then go for it. Its fee is lesser than UPES and it has good placements as well. Thapar has its own reputation. After Thapar, I will prefer UPES.

If you are getting petroleum engineering in UPES, Dehradun, then it will be great for you because UPES provides the best placements for petroleum engineering. And if we talk about the academics of UPES, then that is also good. It has a different pattern.
If we talk about other branches, the placement is above average for them too. For CSE, many good companies visit UPES, like Microsoft, VM Ware, Dell, LnT, IBM, etc.

I will prefer UPES, Dehradun because I know some of my senior from BBA they got good jobs. Some of them are doing work with some startups and of them have set up their own start-up. So according to me it will be more beneficial for you if you do it from UPES, Dehradun.

University of Petroleum and Energy Studies has a wide structure of numerous sub-branches of CS. This gives you an even opportunity to select your area of interest and study it with the specialization at the graduation level.

Go for Jain University without any second thought. Had you opted for B.Tech, UPES would have stood out.

Hello Shruti,
Placements are not up to top IITs every time but yes, UPES placements are very good with some extra knowledge which other universities don't give. The best part is its domain-specified Knowledge and courses. I am also in UPES and I have seen many students getting placed with a good package.
All the best for your future
