BHU conducts BHU UET Counselling within a month of declaring the results. The counselling of BHU UET is entirely based on the merit list. Much like BHU UET, BHU also conducts BHU PET Counselling in August-September tentatively after the declaration of BHU PET results. Candidates, who are shortlisted as per the rank list of BHU UET or BHU PET, respectively, are issued a provisional seat allotment letter after they freeze the allotted seats. BHU offers financial assistance and numerous scholarships to meritorious and needy students. Some of these Banaras Hindu University scholarships are enlisted below:
- Blind students are offered free dinner and lunch under the Annadaan Yojna as well as 20 blind students receive INR 5,000 per annum each
- Students, who secure first and second ranks, are granted an award of INR 4,000 and INR 3,000, respectively
