The flagship programme of IIT Delhi is its BTech programme. It is a four-year course, which is offered in full-time mode across 12 specialisations. IIT Delhi application process for BTech generally starts with JEE Main registrations. IIT Delhi’s BTech admission is based on JEE Advanced score obtained by JEE Main-qualified candidates. The centralised counselling process for all the IITs is managed and regulated by the JoSAA, based on which seat allotment is carried out for all the JEE Advanced-qualified candidates. The seat allotment is based on the IITD BTech cut off and a candidate's preference for specialisations.

IIT Delhi BTech Admission 2022

IIT Delhi BTech admission is completely entrance-based. However, candidates also need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as mentioned below: 

Eligibility: Passed Class 12 from a recognised board with a minimum of 75% aggregate (65% for SC/ ST/ PwD candidates) or be in the top 20 percentile.

Selection: JEE Advanced score, followed by JOSAA counselling.

*BTech in Energy Engineering, Engineering and Computational Mechanics and Materials Engineering was introduced by the institute in 2021, therefore 2019 cutoffs for the same are unavailable.

IIT Delhi BTech Application Process 2022

The step-wise application process of IITD for BTech and BTech-MTech (dual degree) courses is given below: 

Step 1: Visit the official website of IIT Delhi (www.iitd.ac.in). On its homepage, click on ‘Admissions’. From the drop-down menu that appears, further, click on ‘Announcements’.

Step 2: The admission brochure, admission pamphlet and prospectus can be downloaded from this page. Click on the ‘Apply Now’ button to proceed further.

Step 3: The registration page opens up. Click on ‘New User Register Here'. Fill out the registration form with all the details, including name, email ID, contact number, course preference, etc. Also, create an alpha-numeric password for future logins.

Step 4: Further, fill in the remaining application form by addressing other details, including guardian info, address of communication, qualifications, etc.

Step 5: Upload all the required documents in PDF format. Also, upload a passport-size photograph and signature and JPG/ JPEG format.

Step 6: Conclude the application process by paying an application fee using a debit card/ credit card/ net banking.

Before the JEE Main 2022 registration process, students must keep the following documents and information ready for a smooth application process:

• Valid email-id and mobile number
• Academic details related to the Class 10 and Class 12 qualifying exams
• Scanned copy of category certificate (if applicable)
• Scanned copy of PwD certificate (if applicable)
• Scanned photograph and signature as per the specification mentioned by the NTA
• Net banking/credit card/debit card/UPI details for application fee payment
