Placements: About 75% students from the Chemical Engineering (2021 Batch) have been placed in core companies with an average package of 6-7 LPA. The highest package was around 15 LPA and varies between 11-17 LPA from top PSU's. The lowest package was 3.5 LPA offered by TCS, Infosys, Wipro. The top recruiting companies are Haldia Petrochemical, Reliance, IOCL, BPCL etc. The rest have gone for Masters in IISc, IIT, etc. Also, some students have given GATE CAT and topped in them respectively.

Infrastructure: It's a very old and prestigious state-funded university and that comes with its own caveats. The Classrooms are not top-of-the-line but are good enough to study. The Chemical Engineering labs are top-of-the-line and one of the best labs is the Membrane lab. Well-furnished libraries (Central library as well as departmental libraries) are also present.
