What is PUBDET?
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts PUBDET in order to shortlist aspirants for admission in BA/BSc (honours) programmes offered at Presidency University, Kolkata. The PUBDET 2020 dates have been released and the PUBDET exam will be conducted on April 11 and 12, 2020. Online registration and filling of application forms will commence from January 9, 2020 onwards. The last date to submit the application form will be till February 6, 2020.
Presidency University Bachelor Degree Entrance Test (PUBDET) comprises of separate entrance exams that are conducted to offer admission to aspirants in different science and humanities programmes offered at Presidency University at the undergraduate level. While appearing for PUBDET exam, candidates can apply for maximum of any two subjects.
PUBDET 2020 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the 2020 PUBDET. Candidates are only eligible to apply if he/she meets the criteria met. The eligibility criteria for PUBDET 2020 are as follows:

Academic Qualification
- Candidates should have cleared higher secondary examination (XII) that is conducted by CBSE, West Bengal or equivalent exam not before 2019.
- The candidate must pass XII with at least five recognized subjects, including English language and excluding Environmental Science. The aggregate is to be calculated in the best four recognized subjects.
Apart from the above, in their qualifying exam in Class 12, candidates should have secured minimum aggregate score as mentioned in the table below:

PUBDET Admission Process
Candidates will have to firstly register themselves on the official website of the university in order to apply for the 2020 PUBDET entrance exam. Once the candidate has registered themselves, aspirants can fill up the application form. Here’s a step by step admission process:
Step 1: Registration
The candidate will have to register themselves on the official website of the university by entering details such as:

Candidates need to have a valid working mobile number and email-ID as the board will provide candidates about the latest updates and notifications. Candidates are advised to double-check the details before pressing the submit button. All details must match the school credentials
Step 2: Fill PUBDET Application Form
Candidates can only fill PUBDET 2020 application online on the official website of WBJEEB. There is no offline/printed application form available for this entrance exam for Presidency University admissions.
Step 3: Download PUBDET Admit Card
Aspirants need to download the admit card for PUBDET exam from the official website of the exam. After downloading the admit card, candidates need to take a clear print out of the admit card and carry the same to their allotted test centre.
Step 4: Appear for PUBDET Exam
Candidates need to reach their test centre at least 30 minutes before the commencement of PUBDET exam. Aspirants need to carry the below-mentioned documents to their PUBDET test centre:
- A hard copy of PUBDET admit card
- Copy of coloured photograph uploaded while filling the application form online.
- Any photo identity card in original (like Aadhar card/Pan Card/Passport/10th Standard Admit Card/School ID card).
PUBDET exam is of one hour 30 minutes duration and it contains multiple choice questions (MCQs).
Step 5: Check PUBDET Result
The final result for PUBDET exam will be declared in the form of Rank Cards. PUBDET rank cards would contain information such as the candidate’s total score and rank. Aspirants can check PUBDET result on the official website of WBJEEB.
Step 6: Counselling
After the result for PUBDET is released, a separate notification is issued by WBJEEB informing about counselling details and schedule. Aspirants need to take part in PUBDET counselling to secure admission in courses offered at Presidency University based on their rank in PUBDET exam.

PUBDET Exam Centres
The allocation of the PUBDET exam centres will be based on the choices given by the candidate during the online form fill up. However, the centre mentioned will be final and no changes will be made. No request for change of allocated centre will be entertained under normal circumstances.

The last date to submit the application forms will be till February 6, 2020. Candidates need to very carefully fill their details like candidate’s name, father’s name, mother’s name, date of birth, mobile number and email ID. Once all these details are filled and submitted, aspirants will not be able to make any changes to them.

PUBDET 2020 Admit Card
The PUBDET 2020 admit cards will be released in the first week of June, 2020. Candidates will have to download the admit card from the official website of the exam. The admit card will not be sent by post or courier. The board will notify the candidates appearing for the PUBDET entrance exam, however, the candidate will have to download their admit cards. Candidates who have successfully filled in the application form, will receive their admit cards.

Release of PUBDET 2018 Rank Card: 2 Jun 2018
The PUBDET 2020 results will be announced in the second week of July, 2020. Candidates can view and download their PUBDET result from the official website of WBJEEB by using their application number and password. The final result for PUBDET exam would be published as Rank Cards which contain the aspirants rank as well as total score.

PUBDET 2020 Pattern
PUBDET exam pattern is such that all the questions asked in the exam are in English language except for subjects like Hindi and Bengali. PUBDET exam comprises of multiple-choice questions (MCQs) which have four options each. Candidates need to mark the correct answer on an OMR sheet.

Once the PUBDET 2020 results are announced, rank cards are issued by WBJEEB for each candidate on the official website of the exam.
