PUBDET 2023 Result 2023 has been released by the exam conducting body. Candidates who appeared for the exam can visit the official website of PUBDET to check and download the scorecard. Ahead of Result, PUBDET Answer Key was released at the official website of the exam on June 15. Candidates who were not satisfied were supposed to challenge the answer key till June 18. PUBDET exam 2023 was held on June 3 and 4. The exam date was revised by WBJEEB (West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board), the conducting body. Admit Card for the Education Common Entrance Test PUBDET 2023 was released on May 24. The application process for the common entrance exam took place between January 3, 2023 and January 31, 2023. PUBDET Application Correction Window was available from February 2 to 4. PUBDET 2023 result is available for download at official website of the exam. 

What is PUBDET?

The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) conducts the Presidency University Bachelor's Degree Entrance Test (PUBDET) in order to shortlist aspirants for admission in BA and BSc (honours) programmes offered at Presidency University, Kolkata. PUBDET comprises separate entrance exams that are conducted to offer admission to aspirants in different science and humanities programmes offered at Presidency University at the undergraduate level. While appearing for PUBDET exam, candidates can apply for a maximum of any two subjects.

Q:   What is the academic eligibility criteria for PUBDET 2023 exam?

A:

Candidates interested to appear in PUBDET exam are required to check the eligibility criteria for the exam mentioned below. Check out the academic qualification below:

  • Candidates should have cleared higher secondary examination (XII) that is conducted by CBSE, West Bengal or equivalent exam, not before 2020.
  • The candidate must pass XII with at least five recognised subjects, including English language and excluding Environmental Science. The aggregate is to be calculated in the best four recognised subjects.

While appearing for PUBDET exam, candidates can apply for a maximum of any two subjects. 

PUBDET 2023 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria before applying for the 2023 PUBDET. Candidates are only eligible to apply if he/she meets the criteria met. The eligibility criteria for PUBDET 2023 are as follows:

The candidate may apply from Arts / Science stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have Bengali as one subject with 60% marks in Bengali.

English

The candidate may apply from Arts / Science stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have English as one subject with 65% marks in English-A (WBHS) or 75% in English.

History

The candidate has to apply from Arts stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have History as one subject with 65% marks in History.

Philosophy

The candidate may apply from Arts / Science / Commerce stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have English as one subject with 65% marks in English.

Political Science

The candidate may apply from Arts / Science stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have English as one subject with 60% marks in English.

Sociology

The candidate may apply from Arts / Science / Commerce stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have English as one subject with 70% marks in English.

Hindi

The candidate may apply from Arts / Science stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have Hindi as one subject with 60% marks in Hindi.

Performing Arts

The candidate may apply from Arts / Science stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have English as one subject with 60% marks in English.

Physics

The candidate has to apply from Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level. The candidate must have secured 80% in Physics and 80% in Mathematics.

Chemistry

The candidate has to apply from Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level. The candidate must have secured 80% in Chemistry.

Mathematics

The candidate has to apply from Science stream with Mathematics as one subject at 10+2 level. The candidate must have secured 80% in Mathematics.

Statistics

The candidate has to apply from Science stream with Mathematics as one subject at 10+2 level. The candidate must have secured 80% in Mathematics or 80% in Statistics (if Statistics is one of the subjects taken at the 10+2 level).

Life Sciences

The candidate has to apply from Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Statistics and Biology at 10+2 level.

Economics

The candidate may apply from Arts / Science / Commerce stream at 10+2 level. The candidate must have Mathematics (not Business Mathematics) as one subject with 70% marks in English (A/B) and 75% in Mathematics.

Geography

The candidate may apply from Arts / Science stream with any three of the following subjects at 10+2 level: Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology, Statistics, Economics, Political Science, Sociology, History, Geography, Geology.

Geology

The candidate has to apply from Science stream with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics at 10+2 level. The candidate must have secured 70% in each of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

PUBDET Admission Process

Candidates will have to firstly register themselves on the official website of the university in order to apply for the 2023 PUBDET entrance exam. Once the candidate has registered themselves, aspirants can fill up the application form. Here’s a step by step admission process:

Step 1: Registration

The candidate will have to register themselves on the official website of the university by entering details such as:

Candidates need to have a valid working mobile number and email-ID as the board will provide candidates about the latest updates and notifications. Candidates are advised to double-check the details before pressing the submit button. All details must match the school credentials

Step 2: Fill PUBDET Application Form

Candidates can only fill PUBDET 2023 application online on the official website of WBJEEB. There is no offline/printed application form available for this entrance exam for Presidency University admissions.

Step 3: Download PUBDET Admit Card

Aspirants need to download the admit card for PUBDET exam from the official website of the exam. After downloading the admit card, candidates need to take a clear print out of the admit card and carry the same to their allotted test centre.

Step 4: Appear for PUBDET Exam

Candidates need to reach their test centre at least 30 minutes before the commencement of PUBDET exam. Aspirants need to carry the below-mentioned documents to their PUBDET test centre:

  • A hard copy of PUBDET admit card
  • Copy of coloured photograph uploaded while filling the application form online.
  • Any photo identity card in original (like Aadhar card/Pan Card/Passport/10th Standard Admit Card/School ID card).

PUBDET exam is of one hour 30 minutes duration and it contains multiple-choice questions (MCQs).

Step 5: Check PUBDET Result

The final result for PUBDET exam will be declared in the form of Rank Cards. PUBDET rank cards would contain information such as the candidate’s total score and rank. Aspirants can check PUBDET result on the official website of WBJEEB.

Step 6: Counselling

After the result for PUBDET is released, a separate notification is issued by WBJEEB informing about counselling details and schedule. Aspirants need to take part in PUBDET counselling to secure admission in courses offered at Presidency University based on their rank in PUBDET exam.

Q:   When will the PUBDET 2023 exam be conducted?

A:

For this academic session, PUBDET exam was held on June 3 and 4 instead of May 20 and May 21. 

Q:   Is the application form available at the university?

A:

No. The PUBDET application form was available online and not in offline mode. Notably, candidates can check the steps to know about PUBDET application form filling here.

  • After successfully registering, candidates can fill the application form by entering information such as personal details such as domicile, category, PwD status, home district, family income status, religion, nationality etc. Academic qualifications of class X and XII details also need to be filled in.
  • After filling in the aforementioned details, the candidate needs to choose any two zones of examination in order of his/her choice and submit the application.
  • In the next step, the candidate needs to upload the required images.
