AICTE Launches IDE Bootcamp 2.0 to Foster Innovation & Entrepreneurship

AICTE has launched the second edition of the IDE Bootcamp to foster innovation, design expertise, and entrepreneurial skills among student innovators across India.
The Chairman of the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Prof. T.G. Sitharam launched the second edition of the Innovation, Design, and Entrepreneurship (IDE) Bootcamp, a flagship initiative envisioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Organized by the Ministry of Education’s Innovation Cell (MIC) and AICTE, the bootcamp aims to nurture innovation, enhance design expertise, and cultivate entrepreneurial skills among student innovators across India.
While launching the event, Prof. T.G. Sitharam described the bootcamp as a "Festival of Innovation and Design Thinking," emphasising the importance of productization for India’s development. He encouraged participants to adopt design thinking as a fundamental approach to product development and innovation. Prof. Sitharam also introduced the upcoming AICTE Productization Fellowship, aimed at fostering a culture of productization. Emphasizing the transformative impact of Artificial Intelligence (AI) on research and innovation, he highlighted its potential to revolutionize the way we work. He also praised the Wadhwani Foundation for its pivotal role in expanding the reach of the bootcamp nationwide.
IDE Bootcamp 2.0 Curriculum
This year’s IDE Bootcamp curriculum covers key modules such as Design Thinking for Entrepreneurs, Business Model Canvassing, Prototype Development, Financial Literacy for Entrepreneurs, Technology Commercialization, Intellectual Property (IP), and Startup Funding, among others. Participants will also receive expert guidance on how to effectively pitch their ideas to potential investors and partners. The bootcamp will be held simultaneously across 12 prestigious institutions:
- CT Institute of Engineering, Management & Technology, Jalandhar
- Indian Institute of Technology, Jammu
- GLA University, Mathura
- RK University, Rajkot
- Gyan Ganga Institute of Technology & Sciences, Jabalpur
- Jai Bharath College of Management & Engineering Technology, Ernakulam
- Geetanjali Institute of Technical Studies, Udaipur
- Tezpur University
- RVR & JC College of Engineering, Guntur
- Amity University, Ranchi, Jharkhand
- PSNA College of Engineering and Technology, Dindigul
- Chandragupt Institute of Management, Patna
Dr. Abhay Jere, Vice Chairman and CIO of AICTE emphasised that AICTE and MIC are committed to offering programs that encourage and enable students to pursue innovative ideas. He also shared the success of the UDYAMTOSAV- 2025, where over 300 startups pitched their ideas to more than 100 investors across India.
AICTE IDE Bootcamp
Launched in June 2023, the IDE Bootcamp initiative has already achieved significant success, with 34 bootcamps held over the past year, engaging over 7,000 student innovators and faculty mentors. These bootcamps have equipped participants with essential skills to create innovative products and launch startups. The Phase II edition of the bootcamp aims to involve over 3,000 student innovators and Innovation Ambassadors from higher education institutions across India, including those from Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh under the Special Scholarship Scheme. Running from February 17 to 21, 2025, this immersive, five-day experience will focus on innovation, design, and entrepreneurship.
