AICTE to Host IDEA Lab Tech Fest
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced the inaugural AICTE IDEA Lab Tech Fest 2025, scheduled for March 7, 2025. The event will bring together over 80 institutions to showcase groundbreaking projects developed in IDEA Labs across the country, offering visitors a unique glimpse into the future of technology and innovation. With more than 1,800 attendees, including students, faculty, industry experts, and tech enthusiasts, the fest promises to be a dynamic platform celebrating creativity, research, and technical excellence.
The AICTE IDEA Lab Tech Fest can be attended by anyone passionate about innovation and technology. Open to the general public, students, faculty, industry professionals, and tech enthusiasts, the fest offers a unique opportunity to experience firsthand the transformative potential of IDEA Labs and the groundbreaking innovations they foster.
The fest will showcase live demonstrations of groundbreaking projects, interactive exhibits, and an insightful panel discussion featuring thought leaders from education, research, and industry. Designed to foster collaboration between academia, industry, and young innovators, the IDEA Lab Tech Fest will serve as a dynamic platform for exploring cutting-edge ideas, engaging with creative minds, and witnessing the transformative impact of STEM education in action.
A major highlight of the fest will be the evaluation process, where an expert jury will assess the exhibited projects and recognise the most outstanding innovations with first, second, and third prizes. The event will be inaugurated by AICTE Chairman, Prof. T.G. Sitharam, and will also be graced by AICTE Vice Chairman, Dr. Abhay Jere, and AICTE Member Secretary, Prof. Rajive Kumar.
AICTE IDEA Lab
Launched in 2021, the AICTE IDEA (Idea Development, Evaluation & Application) Lab initiative empowers technical education institutions across India with state-of-the-art facilities for experimentation, innovation, and prototyping. Encouraging students to apply STEM fundamentals, cultivates a hands-on learning environment that drives creativity and product development. In 2025 alone, AICTE has sanctioned 318 new IDEA Labs, in addition to 115 existing labs across the country, further reinforcing India’s commitment to technological advancement and entrepreneurship.
