Eligibility Criteria For Becoming a CSM
There are no educational eligibility criteria to become Certified Scrum Master but training is a must. The applicant must attend 16 hours of CSM course provided by a certified scrum trainer. The 16 hour CSM training is mandatory for sitting in the CSM examination. After taking the CSM exam, the applicant must accept the license agreement.
About CSM Training
It is a 16 hours (2 days) CSM training which is compulsory for anyone sitting for the CSM exam. The aspirant should be able to understand the Scrum framework. CSM training should cover Scrum principles, framework, definitions, ways to run the Scrum project, team management, how Scrum works for your organization, different roles in Scrum. Through the training, trainees will learn the foundations and rules of Scrum, the roles of a Scrum master and effective use of Scrum. After the completion of training, the instructor assists applicant in creating an account to access a CSM exam test site.
About CSM Exam
The CSM exam can be taken only after completing the CSM training. It consists of 50 MCQs in 60 minutes. The applicant is required to pass the exam with 74% which means 37 answers must be answered correctly. Applicants can take the test twice every 3 months along with the mandatory two-day course.
