Skill India is a revolutionary government initiative to provide accessible, job-ready training from anywhere in the country. The platform, officially known as Skill India Digital Hub (SIDH), connects jobseekers and employers across 40 sectors.

Its aim is to prepare the Indian workforce, school dropouts, and marginalised sections to spearhead today’s global economy by navigating and adapting to Industry 4.0, AI/ML developments, IoT, etc. It also focuses on modernising traditional artisanship through training, incentives, stipends, and relevant certifications.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY)

This scheme focuses on improving the state of institutions at central, state, and district level, and assuring achieving good quality in the training programmes. It also ensures that marginalised sections of society get access to high quality training.

Based on these criteria, the World Bank has rated the tenure since its foundation to be satisfactory through periodic reviews.

Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Kendras (PMKKs)

PM Vishwakarma Scheme
