SPPU to offer Harvard Business School courses online

The open market fee of these courses is between US$1,200 to US$1,800. However, the SPPU will offer the courses for US$300-US$400.

SPPU Admissions 2021: The Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has joined hands with the Harvard Business School in order to offer 12 courses online for students and its alumni across different disciplines. According to TOI, Nitin Karmalkar, the SPPU’s vice-chancellor told that the open market fee of these courses is between US$1,200 to US$1,800. However, the SPPU will offer the courses for US$300-US$400. He was speaking on the sidelines of the first day of the two-day annual senate meeting on September 25. “The courses are designed by Harvard Business School and the faculty of theirs. But, we have reached an agreement and will sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with them so that our students, as well as alumni, can make use of the 12 courses offered online by them,” Karmalkar told TOI.

Meanwhile, talking about the offered courses, Apoorva Palkar, the director of Innovation, Incubation and Linkages at the SPPU said, “They will be certificate courses as well as diploma courses. The courses will be on new age topics such as data analytics. They will be offered in aan synchronous mode to everyone.”  NS Umarani, SPPU pro-vice-chancellor expressed that the course will be useful for working professionals and faculty members. “We hope to start offering these courses around mid-October. They have such MoUs with nine institutes/universities in India and we are one,” She added.

Meanwhile, in the first half of the senate meeting, the members animatedly discussed the higher education directorate’s recent letter telling the divisional joint director to look into the validity of VC Nitin Karmalkar’s initial appointment as a professor in SPPU.
