On B.E. / B.Tech Admissions
Q:   Does SPPU accept MHT CET exam for admission to BTech?
A:

Yes, candidates seeking admission to Engineering and Technology courses at Savitribai Phule Pune University or its affiliated colleges are required to have a valid score in MHT CET exam conducted by DTE Maharashtra. For BTech, however, candidates must have also completed their Class 12 with Science stream to be eligible and appear for the MHT CET exam. Check out the application process for MHTCET exam here. Q:   I've scored less than 50% in 12th boards, can I get admission in UniPune for BTech?
A:

The eligibility criteria for Pune University (UniPune) BTech programmes require a candidate to have passed Class 12 with minimum 45% in relevant subjects. Hence, a candidate scoring 50% in Class 12 is eligible to apply for BTech at UniPune. However, the selection process of the university is based on the scores obtained by the candidates in one of the accepted entrance exams. The accepted entrance exams for BTech admission at the university include Pune University Online Entrance Exam (OEE)/JEE Main/MHT CET. Hence, just obtaining the minimum marks required in Class 12 does not guarantee admission to BTech courses of UniPune. In case a candidate fails to get admission to the BTech courses offered at the university, they can check out other colleges offering Online BTech courses.

It is not worth the money, but the infrastructure is good.
Placements: About 80% of students get placed. The highest package is 70 LPA (international), while the lowest is 3 LPA. Companies like Bosch, Adani, and Samsung. Internships are available at BARC, TATA, and Philips, but the percentage is low, as the college doesn't support much. The roles include software developers, consultants, and R&D engineers.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, with Wi-Fi labs, classrooms, a library, a canteen, and workshop rooms. The hostel is very luxurious but expensive. The mess food is not good. There are no sports or game facilities available in the hostels, and the hostel rules are very strict.
Faculty: Faculty members are good but not very helpful. They have their favorites. No, they do not make students industry-ready, as only theoretical knowledge is provided. The exams are easy to pass, but scoring good is difficult. The pass percentage is 90%, and most students pass.
Other: I chose this course because of the boost in the future. It should have more practical experience, and projects should be sponsored by the college. The crowd is not that decent, and events and fests have a low budget.

I am satisfied with my branch.
Placements: Approximately 67% to 80% of eligible students secure placements through campus recruitment, with average packages ranging between 4 LPA and 6 LPA, particularly for branches like CS, IT, and AI, which often see higher averages. The highest package reported is up to 10 LPA, typically for software development roles.
Infrastructure: My AI department has good labs with fast CPUs and fast Ethernet. The canteen is average, and the college does not have hostels on campus; however, the faculty for my course is good, and the HOD is very supportive. I advise you to take admission in Aids, computers, or only if you are taking admission in this college.
Faculty: Teachers in my branch are generally good and very supportive. However, for other branches like ENTC, electrical, and instrumentation, they can be quite problematic. The college is autonomous, which means that the syllabus and exams are designed by the college itself. Overall, this autonomy is beneficial, but there are some drawbacks.
Other: I chose my branch in AIDS because it's a trending branch, and in the hope that this branch will have good placements.

Faculty is good but not satisfied with placements because there are no placements.
Placements: 80 students are in my batch and my college does not have placements. In college, not a single company came for recruiting. And I never heard my senior get a job through a college placement. But students got internships at start-ups and well-known companies.
Infrastructure: Students are not allowed to use the Wi-Fi. Labs are clean and well maintained and there are advanced e-learning devices in all classrooms but the classrooms are not cleaned. There are sports events, intercollege events and shooting ranges. And no hostel students are living in PG's.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and knowledgeable, helping students and clearing doubts. The teaching staff is good. Yes, the course is an industry-ready application. The exams are strictly conducted but most of the students get passed in all the subjects (all clear).
Other: I chose this course because of the core subjects like web technology, data structure and systems. There are fests, events, competitions and sports events.

Satisfied with the placement because to college is under the Pimpri Chinchwad Education Trust.
Placements: In our course, the minimum placement percentage for students is 70 percent, and the highest package from our college was 36 lakhs. Top recruiting companies include TCS, Accenture, KPIT Force, Mercedes, etc. At least 90 percent of students secure internships in companies like TCS and Accenture. The top roles offered in our course are software engineer and web developer.
Infrastructure: The facilities in our college are very good. Throughout the campus, Wi-Fi is available within a specific range. There are two types of libraries: a reading library and a digital library, where computers are located. The quality of food in the hostel is good, and the canteen also offers quality food. There is a basketball court on campus, and indoor games are available, along with a gym.
Faculty: Teachers are very good, and the staff is supportive. While some teachers may be rude, the overall teaching quality is commendable. The course curriculum is relevant and prepares students to perform well in the industry. The college is associated with SPPU University, Pune. Since the university exams are challenging, the passing marks for every paper are 28 out of 70, with 30 marks allocated for internal assessment in each subject.
Other: This course is used in it industry.

Nice college for local Nashik students.
Placements: Placement opportunities at this college are quite good; around 40-50% of students get placed. The highest package was 22 lakhs per annum, and the average was 6 lakhs per annum in 2022-23. Placement opportunities in my course are relatively limited, but if you study computer science engineering or electrical engineering, you have a good chance of securing a decent placement.
Infrastructure: The college has spacious classrooms with a capacity of 60-70 students and a seminar hall, drawing rooms, and all other labs required for the courses you will enroll in. Hostel facilities are available for both girls and boys. The mess is also available, but has decent food only.
Faculty: All faculty members are well qualified, experienced, and helpful. My course is four years long and divided into eight semesters. It follows NEP 2022, including regular assignments, practicals, tests, mid-semester, and end-semester exams. Attendance is quite strict; you must maintain 75% attendance.
Other: Most of the students are local, but you may also find some from outside Maharashtra. The gender ratio is good, approximately 3:5 for girls and boys. The campus is green with all the required facilities. The college has an annual fest called "Maffick."

B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2026
Offered by Modern Education Society's College of Engineering
2.6
2Placements3Infrastructure3Faculty2Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Students should know their rights and the college should inform them!
Placements: I am currently studying in the 2nd year of Mechanical Engineering. The placements percentage of Mechanical Engineering in my college is about 90 to 95%. Companies come with a criteria, and if a student is suitable for that criteria, he/she can get placed. The highest package offered was for 42 LPA and it was bagged for 37 LPA by a mechanical engineer, the lowest package is the average package of the college which is about 2LPA to 2.5LPA. Amazon, TATA, Wipro, and TCS are the top recruiting companies in Pune which also recruit for my course. My college offers internships at TATA, ENV, etc. If a student has cleared all his subjects without any backlogs, he/she can get a chance of internship. 55-60% students get a chance to get into internships.
Infrastructure: The course offers number of books which are available in the library. The library does not have any book which are not related to any other course in the college. The college supports WiFi but most of the time, it does not work. There are various types of machine labs related to my course which help the students to see and do things practically. The classrooms now are updated with smart TVs for the students to understand better. I would rate the hostel facilities 4/10 and the quality of the food provided there. Sports quota plays an important role here.
Faculty: The amount of knowledge the teachers hold is great, but they does not teach or are not able to teach the way they should. The course curriculum just makes the students theoretically industry ready, but the reality is that 50% of the students are not really ready with what the industries need. The semester exams should be more difficult for our country to get useful engineers. The passing percentage is about 70%.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to see and learn the mechanical industry closely. Mechanical Engineering is just like a real life video game, it helps us understand how things works practically. The main thing I would like to change about the course is the type of teaching the students are offered, rather than teaching theoretically, they should teach more practically. The name of the fest held every year in the month of February is 'JHANKAAR'. The college gives and supports a lot of scholarships which helps the students with lower financial backgrounds.
