AMU Admissions 2021: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) is all set to introduce various undergraduate and postgraduate courses online. According to the reports, the University started thinking about the prospects of online courses after the government allowed universities to offer fully online degrees to widen access to higher education and to raise the profile of Indian institutions globally. Amongst the lot, Aligarh Muslim University became an “early mover” in the online education space after being granted permission to start online BA, BCom, MA and MCom courses from this year.

Candidates interested in AMU Admissions 2021 must note that according to an official release, the courses will be offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). Talking about the University’s initiative and its advantages, AMU Vice-Chancellor Professor Tariq Mansoor said, “With the online graduation and post-graduation courses, AMU will have a global outreach and this shall herald a new era in the march of CDOE towards its goal of providing quality and affordable education to all.” Professor M Nafees Ahmad Ansari, Director, CDOE, said these online courses were open to candidates from all over the country and abroad.

Meanwhile, the varsity’s Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College (JNMC) formed a 16-member anti-ragging committee for its Faculty of Medicine to handle the complaints related to ragging and harassment. The committee will be operating in accordance with the Medical Council of India (MCI) anti-ragging rules. According to the notice issued by MCI, a fine of Rs 1 Lakh will be imposed for any ragging incident in JNMC. Professor R Bhargava, Dean, Faculty of Medicine said that in case of any untoward incident, the college will have to pay the decided fine to the authority designated by the government.
