Aligarh Muslim University, popularly known as AMU, was established in 1920 after evolving out of the Mohammedan Anglo-Oriental College (MAO College) that was incepted in 1875. It is a public university located in Aligarh, UP, India. AMU was established by the great social reformer, Sir Syed Ahmad khan. The university is open to all irrespective of religion, caste, gender and creed. AMU has 13 faculties, and under every faculty a separate department of study is formed.

The university is spread over 1,155 acre of land with most of the students and staffs residing in the campus. AMU has 19 residence halls and 80 hostels for its students. The university also has two centres at Mallapurum, Kerala and Murshidabad, West Bengal where teaching facility of Integrated Law and MBA courses is made available.
The university has five libraries namely Maulana Azad, Engineering College, Medical College, Social Science Cyber and Ajmal Khan Tibbiya College libraries. In addition, the university has games clubs that include facilities for sports such as cricket, hockey, football, basketball, horse riding, tennis and skating. The General Education Centre at the university is dedicated to cultural and extracurricular activities. This centre organises events in the fields of music, film, theatre, literature, etc.

Aligarh Muslim University Admissions
Aligarh Muslim University admissions are done basis students’ performance in the last qualification exam and entrance exams that are conducted internally. The mode of application is online and the medium of admission/departmental test is English except where the question paper is set in another language.
Admission to various undergraduate and postgraduate courses is done basis Admission test and Departmental tests.
Further, admission to some courses is also done basis marks obtained in the qualifying examination. The university accepts national entrance tests (NEET score) for admission to courses such as MBBS and BDS.
Candidates appearing for the Admission / Departmental tests need to secure minimum 15% marks to be eligible for admission to a respective course. The university also offers admission basis performance in Co-curricular / extra-curricular activities.

Aligarh Muslim University Placements
AMU has a dedicated Training and Placement Office. The objective of Aligarh Muslim University placements cell is to make students aware and job-ready in their chosen fields of study. The department provides necessary training to students to make sure their success in the placement drives. Aligarh Muslim University Scholarships
Aligarh Muslim University scholarships are provided basis merit and financial background of students. It offers Maqsood Husain Khan Memorial Scholarship of Rs 18,000 to MBBS students from weak financial background. The university offers Mukhtar Husain scholarship of Rs 10,000 purely on merit basis. Other than this, AMU offers Nurul Hasan Educational and Research Foundation Scholarships to its deserving students.
Besides, the university provides Saifi Trust Scholarship to present AMU students and previous students studying in prestigious institutes purely on merit basis. The Bharat Sewa Trust Scholarship is offered to students with 70% marks throughout. It is offered to students studying in the faculties of Law, Engineering, Management and Agriculture Sciences. Further, the U.P. Govt. Scholarship is given to bona fide students of AMU from Uttar Pradesh whose family income is less than Rs 2 LPA. Other than this, the university provides several scholarships for students studying in the faculties of Medicine, Law and Engineering & Technology such as Salim scholarship, Prof. Hafizur Rehman Merit Scholarship and Prof. Jalaluddin Scholarship, respectively.

I want to do b.tech from distance from CS,as I'm a government servant,so can't attend daily basis classes,plzz suggest me any opinion.
Doing distance B.Tech is not valid as per UGC guidelines, So please avoid to do this. B.Tech lateral, AMIE or part time regular B.Tech are the best available options.

Not eligible for DU and its affiliated colleges because these required 10+2 with Mathematics or Business Mathematics. But it does not matter the procedure remains same every state has its own ruling about lateral mode of admission in Maharashtra it is the directorate of technical education which centrally conducts counselling for admission based on marks obtained in Diploma.
