It is the worst institution that I have ever seen.
Placements: The college doesn't provide any placements and doesn't cooperate with working students. The internship provided by this institution will help you with nothing. There are no placements so far. If you are working, then fine. But if you are a fresher and you should be serious about your career. I suggest not to take admission in this institution. It will destroy your career, and you will not be able to do anything.
Infrastructure: There is no Wi-Fi within this institution. Labs are okay. Classrooms of 2nd year and 3rd-year students are not equipped with air-conditioners. Only classrooms of 1st-year students are equipped with air-conditioners. The library is also fine. It is a waste of time, energy, money by joining this institute. This institution will never try to understand your problem.
Faculty: Teaching quality is poor, except for one or two faculty. Teachers possess nil knowledge. The course curriculum is completely not relevant, which is never going to help you in your job. It is the worst institution. I suggest not to take admission in this college else your life will get doomed. They never support students; rather, they will make new rules to make students suffer. They like it when the students fail, and they proudly announce that. During admission, they will say that working students don't need to worry about 75% attendance. But they will not allow you to attend for semester exam if you don't have 75% attendance. There is a full of politics within this institution.
Other: Since I am already working, I thought it would be best for me if I get admission here. But after getting admission to this college, my career got doomed completely. During the admission, they will promise you many things. But once you take admission, you will see their true colours. It is a complete waste of time, energy, money, career.

Review about Institute of Business Management.
Placements: No campus placements are done. The college will do nothing for you as far as your job is concerned. In Kolkata, no managerial job is left and nothing is happening here. People got a menial job and MBA students are no exception. This institute has no way to improve this situation. People who are already employed have more opportunities here. Don't come if you are fresher. Internships given are not so useful.
Infrastructure: No Wi-Fi when I was there. Maybe now, it is available. The computer lab is outdated. A little bit of Excel, C, some B.Com-level theory, that is it. They don't even teach SPSS, R, etc. You may get an assurance of SAP training but it will never happen. The kibrary is good, though. Classrooms are okay, nothing to shout about. There is no hostel facility.
Faculty: Faculty members are a hit or miss. Some are great, but some, especially of HR, OB, etc are cringe worthy. As far as the course is concerned, not much choices are there. All the necessary names are there, but you will be taught only the basics. Don't think it will actually help in your job. In fact, people enroll here only to get a degree which will boost the position at their job (mostly government employees come here). There is absolute zero industry exposure.

MBA in Business Management - Batch of 2025

It has good placements, a strong recruiter network, decent internships, and decent faculty support.
Placements: Placements at the Institute of Business Management, Jadavpur, typically see 80-90 percent success. The highest package ranges from 15-25 LPA. Top recruiting companies like TCS, Deloitte, and Accenture visit the college for placements. Internship offers are around 70-80 percent with roles in consulting, marketing, and HR.
Infrastructure: The department offers Wi-Fi, modern classrooms, well-equipped labs, and a comprehensive library. Hostels provide decent rooms with basic amenities. The mess serves good food. Medical facilities are available. It has sports facilities like courts and a gym.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified and knowledgeable. They are always ready to help us. The course curriculum is relevant and prepares students well for the industry. Semester exams are moderately challenging, with a good pass percentage due to strong academic support and preparation.
Other: I chose this course for its strong industry relevance and diverse opportunities. The best aspects are knowledgeable faculty members, real-world case studies, and great placement support. It needs improvements in more industry-specific workshops. The campus is vibrant with events, good connectivity, and scholarships.

Sure Moulika. you should definitely remember that JU doesn't teaches MBA, IBM does. IBM is affiliated under JU. JU accepts both CAT and MAT score. A 70 percentile in MAT is enough to get the admission an in case of CAT it is good enough to secure 50 percentile overall. Thanks
