History
In the year 1865 Indiana General Assembly voted to participate in the Morill Act of 1862 and established an institution. Then, in 1869, the Indiana General Assembly chose the Lafayette area for the new institution. Then, in 1929, the Graduate School was officially established. Then in 2001 the Discovery Park was founded. In 2023 Purdue secured $613 million in external research funding.
