Commonly asked questions
On All Courses
Q:   Are edX courses paid or free?
A:

edX offers both free and paid courses. If the student is financially weak, he/she can enrol in a ‘free to audit’ track. However, you will not get a certification. If the student still wants a certification, you can seek financial assistance on the edX platform. By enrolling in free to audit courses that are eligible for verified certificates, interested students can apply for financial assistance. Do note that not all eligible students will get financial assistance. If you need a certificate, you can directly enrol in verified tracks or paid courses. This will ensure that you will get the certificate after the course completion.

Q:   Which edX course is best?
A:

Harvard's CS50 Introduction to Computer Science is one of the best and most popular course on edX in which millions of students have enrolled. CS50 has includes 13 courses. The entire  CS50 series is popular for its comprehensive introduction to computer science. This course covers different types of computer Science topics including algorithms, data structures, software engineering, as well as web development. CS50 courses are designed for students with no prior programming experience. Those who earn a good score on the 9 problem set as well as the final project will become eligible for earning a certificate.

Q:   What is the benefit of enrolling in edX MicroMasters programs?
A:

MicroMasters programs are a special category of courses offered by edX that expedite your journey from bachelor's to master's programs. These programs are in between bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

These programs include high-level courses that are equivalent to traditional master's programs. These courses focus on developing specific skills and knowledge required for advanced studies and professional work.

Many universities accept the credits of the MicroMasters program. This allows learners to bypass certain requirements for a master's degree. Students will be able to complete their master’s degree with less coursework of programs offered by those universities that accept MicroMaster’s credits.

By enrolling in these courses, students will get a chance to be a part of a global network of peers, instructors and professionals. This will also be beneficial for academic and career prospects.
