Amy Sonntag has worked extensively for almost 20 years in the Augmentative Alternative Communication (AAC) field providing evaluation, therapy, and consultative services to people with complex communication needs (CCN). Over the course of her career, she has served diverse populations of patients with a variety of speech-language disorders, including childhood apraxia of speech, autism, cerebral palsy, and developmental disorder.

My research focus is on the application of science and technology to improve the quality of life of individuals with disabilities. My most recent research activities include investigating the role of personal navigation apps for individuals with cognitive disabilities, and the assessment of the assistive technology service delivery process through the use of outcome measures
