Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) - Batch of 2025

It is an average college, with basic facilities, no placements, and decent studies.
Placements: I completed my graduation with a 3-year degree (6 semesters) over a period of approximately 4 years. The institution also offered an option to continue for an additional 2 semesters (7th & 8th) to obtain an honours degree. There is no placement cell, and data is not available. There is no official package data available. No company visited for recruitment. There is no placement program, and students should arrange it themselves. There are no campus roles, and it depends on students.
Infrastructure: In our college, classrooms were basic. Smart boards were used in some classrooms. Basic labs were available. There was no Wi-Fi, and the library had a limited quantity of books. There was no hostel. The canteen food quality was basic. Limited medical support and sports facilities were available.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful and qualified. The overall teaching was average and understandable. The course curriculum was relevant and provided basic industry knowledge, helping students to become somewhat industry-ready. Semester exams were of a moderate difficulty level. The pass percentage was around 60-70%.
Other: I completed my graduation in a 3-year course (6 semesters). I chose this course due to my interest and to gain basic knowledge for future career options. The best part of the course was that it provided relevant theoretical understanding. However, I felt that more practical exposure and an updated curriculum would improve it. The college had an average campus life with limited events and extracurricular activities. The campus crowd was decent. The connectivity was manageable, and surroundings were normal. Scholarship opportunities were limited here.

B.Sc. in Zoology - Batch of 2026

Our college provides decent infrastructure with facilities like fibre optic, well-equipped labs.
Placements: The biggest package is 10-20 LPA, while the lowest was about 2 to 3 LPA, with an average package of 4 LPA. The top companies include Infosys and HCL. Around 40% of students also secured internships in companies like Infosys and local startups, which help in gaining practical experience.
Infrastructure: The college provides very good infrastructure facilities like fibre-equipped labs, classrooms with LCD TVs, and a library with academic aids. Classrooms are clean and maintained, and labs have the necessary equipment for practicals. Hostels are average with basic amenities available.
Faculty: Faculty members are well qualified and knowledgeable. Most teachers explain concepts clearly and are always ready to help our students with doubts. Teacher quality is very good, though it may vary slightly depending on the subject. The course curriculum is fairly relevant.
Other: Good college with faculty and decent placement opportunities, but some improvements are needed in infrastructure and practicals. I chose this course because it offers very good career prospects and scope for growth.

Bachelor of Commerce in Finance (Hons.) - Batch of 2025

Did I waste my 3 years at Islamia College of Science and Commerce? My honest college review.
Placements: Unfortunately, no student in my course got placed. The college has an official placement cell, but it is practically inactive. No student from my batch got an internship either. Any student for whom getting placed is a priority should think more before joining this college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure was kind of decent. The classrooms were both big and small. My favorite place in the entire college was the library. The library is well-maintained, with AC and Wi-Fi facilities as well. The hostel is average. The boys' hostel contains around 26 rooms. Three students stay in a room, making it difficult to have private space there. The food was also decent, though I personally found some hygienic issues. The college has a big group, and you can participate in multiple sports.
Faculty: Teachers were formally qualified and knowledgeable. However, most of them, except for a few, lacked effective teaching techniques. I feel the curriculum, for the most part, is not relevant from the industry perspective. You're mostly trained for getting good marks, not for jobs. The difficulty of the semester exams was moderate. Most of the students (80%) pass the exam easily.
Other: I chose this course because I was fairly good at the subject. I had decided in my 10th class that I would take the Commerce stream. However, I was a little disappointed with the syllabus. I feel that the syllabus taught at the Bachelor's level should be designed with the needs of the industry at the center. The college does organize events, but very few. I hope the college organizes more events in the future. About the scholarships, I'm not sure. I am from a general category. I don't think they have scholarship programs for reserved categories.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2028
Offered by Government Degree College, Anantnag
4.4

I suggest students join GDC, Anantnag, if they live nearby.
Placements: The college is situated in a very good location, which is easily accessible. There are many opportunities in college. The college offers 20 percent placements. The package offered is 2 LPA. L&T, Anchor, Havells, and Lord are the top recruiting companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very good with top-quality labs and experienced lecturers. It also has Wi-Fi facilities and clean classrooms with a hostel facility for students. It has a canteen, but the canteen is not well-maintained. It lacks good sports facilities, but overall, sports facilities are good.
Faculty: Teachers are very good with top-quality knowledge and qualifications. They are also very experienced and friendly. Exams are based on what is being taught, and nothing is out of the syllabus. The course curriculum is also relevant and makes students industry-ready.

Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com.) - Batch of 2028
Offered by Government Degree College, Anantnag
4.0
4Placements5Infrastructure3Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
It is a good choice for those who live nearby.
Placements: Placements are not very good, and expectations are low. Since it is a government college, faculty quality is somewhat negotiable. This year, the packages offered in the B.Com sector range between 1.5 LPA and 2 LPA. The placement percentage is very low, at around 25 percent, which is not good.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi connectivity is good, and sports instruments are also good. However, the gym is not well-maintained. Most equipment is rusty, and treadmills often show technical errors and do not work properly. The gym feels a bit suffocated. On the positive side, the ground area is very large, and more than five games can be played at the same time.
Faculty: Teachers do not appear frequently. They are usually visible only during lecture hours. They are not easily approachable when students need help. However, their nature is good. Although it may take time to find them. Students eventually get their work done.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - Batch of 2025

Really good infrastructure.
Placements: Almost 10 percent of students from our course are placed. The highest package was Rs 8 LPA, and the lowest package was 5 LPA. Google, Microsoft, Meta, etc., recruited. Students from my course get placement by a company named Xault. Roles offered in our course are Software Engineer, Data Analyst, Web Developer, etc.
Infrastructure: Very good infrastructure. Internet access for students is available in every corner of the university. Well-structured labs, smart classrooms with smart boards, projectors and much more. Talking about the library, it's 24/7 open for students. The hostel, food, and all facilities are very good.
Faculty: Good quality professors. Talking about the semester exams, it depends on the classes you attended because syllabi are completed by teachers in classes. If students attend regular classes, then they gain a good percentage. The pass percentage is almost 35 percent.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in new technology. There are many placements with a higher package in this course. In this course, one can learn AI, web development, network security, and much more.
