The University of Kashmir (commonly known as Kashmir University) offers degree and diploma courses to candidates at UG, PG, and PhD levels. Courses offered are in the streams of Humanities & Social Sciences, IT & Software, Accounting & Commerce, Science, Business & Management Studies, Law, etc. Admission to the courses is entrance or merit-based.

Kashmir University further conducts an entrance test for admission to various courses such as MBA, MTTM, B.Ed, etc. It may be noted that the admission process of Kashmir University also requires candidates to appear for a counselling session (if applicable) after the entrance exam is conducted.

Through the Directorate of Distance Education (DDE), the university offers courses like B.Ed, MA, and MSc in distance mode.

The university offer scholarships to provide financial aid to meritorious students. The below-mentioned table presents details on each of the offered Kashmir University Scholarships:

Scholarships & Student Aid Details
Merit Scholarships

Two merit scholarships, awarded to the top two merit holders, are available to students accepted into various courses and programmes at the university. In the final year, merit scholarships are offered based on performance in the previous year's paid exams for the MA, MSc, MCom., and MLIS degrees as well as the first and second semesters of the MLIS programme. Subject to a maximum of 12 calendar months, the scholarship is offered from the date of enrollment in the course until the last day of the test.

Research Scholarships Each Department/Research Center is given four scholarships for conducting research that will result in the award of a PhD or MPhil, in addition to a contingency grant that is payable annually to cover other costs.
Students Aid

The institution has a policy known as the "Student Aid Fund," under which financial aid is given to students, especially the deserving ones who come from low-income groups. The Kashmir University Alumni Association also offers financial aid to students from low-income families, with preference given to orphaned children.

The admission process involves application form filling and submission, shortlisting of eligible students, merit list release, and seat allotment. Details on each of the admission procedure stages are mentioned below:

STEP 1: Kashmir University Application Process 2022 

Candidates can apply at Kashmir University both online and offline depending on the course they are applying for. For online registrations, candidates can fill out and submit the application form on the university's official website. For offline registrations, candidates can download the application form from the official website of Kashmir University and submit it (duly filled) at the address prescribed by the varsity.

The step-by-step process for applying is:

Step 1.1: Visit Kashmir University's official website (kashmiruniversity.net).

Step 1.2: Register with some basic details and generate a login ID and password.

Step 1.3: Login, start filling out the online form and submit it on completion.

Kashmir University Application Process 2022: Important Documents

The documents required at the time of application form submission are as follows:

  • Duly-attested copy of Class 10/Class 12/ Bachelor’s Degree, or any other degree
  • Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination from a foreign university should submit all the relevant information/ documents which may justify the equivalence of their qualification
  • Duly-attested translated copies of marks sheets/ degrees in a language other than English
  • Character certificate from the Head of the institute last attended
  • Category certificate (if applicable)

STEP 2: Shortlisting of students

Admission to a few courses is merit-based and for other courses, candidates are selected based on entrance exam scores such as JEE Main, JKCET, CMAT, and UGAT. Hence, the university shortlists applicants on the basis of aggregate in the last qualifying exam or the accepted entrance exam.

STEP 3: Release of Merit List

STEP 4: Seat Allotment & Admission Confirmation

Students shortlisted in the merit list are allotted seats. For admission fee submission, candidates can login to the mponline portal (Kashmiri.mponline.gov.in/portal/) and enter the application number. This will enable the challan so that the candidate can deposit the fee online. After fee payment, the candidate's admission is confirmed.

It has really good infrastructure.

Placements: No recruiting companies come to this college for placements. I don't know the exact numbers, but only a few numbers of students get internships. I don't have the exact information of what titles were offered in our course. I'm still studying, and my course will end in 2022.

It is the best college for fetching students.

Placements: I am in B.Sc, and there are around 50 students in our batch. We can grasp everything without any mess. Our course offers us branches of zoology, botany, chemistry and English communication skills, which makes our course a good one.

Infrastructure: We have free Wi-Fi in our college, advanced labs and bright and big classrooms. There is a big library where you can read or take books for home studies. Our hostel is top in the vicinity with great and affordable facilities. There are a canteen and mess in the hostel ...

It has awesome faculty members and a good infrastructure. NAAC accredited B+ grade to the college.

Placements: About 60% of the students from our course got placed. The highest salary offered is Rs. 25,000 per month and the average salary offered is Rs. 19,000 per month. Top recruiting companies do not visit our college for placements. A private company named Ummeed is recruiting students if they are interested in placements. Almost 500 students are available in every course.

GDC, Anantnag, is the college where you can gain something.

Placements: At least 20% of students in our course got placed. The highest package offered is 10,000 per month, and the lowest salary is 5,000 per month. Many companies recruit students from our college. 50% of students get internships. Students are top in economic issues and development.

I'm satisfied with the college.

Placements: We were 20% students of that batch in total college. The lowest salary offered is Rs. 70,000 per month, and the highest salary offered is Rs.90,000 per month. There are many companies which are offering jobs in our course. Around 50% of the students got internships. Around 40% of the students got internships in Indian companies. The Kashmir University entrance exam carries a weightage of 60%, and merit has a weightage of 40%. The entrance exam is for 60 marks. The final selection of a candidate is based on combined marks of the entrance test and aggregate of merit marks, which is reduced to the base of 40.
