IIM Sambalpur has three hostel buildings, two for boys and one for girls. The rooms are provided to the students of IIM Sambalpur on a twin-sharing basis. The campus is wifi enabled. Placements: The strongest support is provided by the college for the placement services. The highest package till now has been 31.67 LPA for the Master of Business Administration graduates. Infrastructure: It is a higher-grade college with sophisticated facilities, but students' opinions don't matter. My honest review about my college.

Placements: More than 90% of the students are offered internships at our college. I am currently pursuing my summer marketing internship at ElasticRun. Placements are very good for our batch and seniors as well. Almost 100% of the students got placed in our college. All the major MNCs and technical firms along with a string of FMCG companies visited our campus for placements. Campus placement is good as many companies come up with different roles for the batch.

Infrastructure: There is no hostel at the college as they are under construction. Canteen food is very cheap and hygienic. The overall fee is also very less and affordable for every section of society.

Faculty: All faculty members at the college are Ph.D. holders. We are being taught by some of the best faculty members here at IIM Sambalpur. We have Mr Prakash Banerjee sir to teach marketing subjects, and we have BBC sir to teach finance subjects. Some teachers have experience of more than 20 years. They also explain multiple real-life problems and guide us on how to formulate strategies in different situations. It's a very old college with very good teaching faculty, and it comes under Delhi University, which is India's number 1 ranked university. Course curriculum is a bit loose but the gaps are matched via the interaction with other department students Faculty members of course are the best-rated ones be it the dean sir or other visiting faculty members.

Placements: Placement in-charge gives newer ideas, helps us in searching for the same, it is helpful for many students to start their new ventures in various fields. And a few of us recommend joining master's courses to get deeper knowledge. So placement succession rates are also above 82%.

Infrastructure: The wide campus gave life to thousands of students for a year. As students from various colleges got the centers for writing their semester examinations in our college. So our college has so many facilities to handle all those things. Even to take online exams, there are enormous facilities in our college.

Faculty: I'm so lucky to get teachers like this, they would show special attention, training to the below-average students. Most importantly, teachers have wide connectivity with various industries and organizations. Also, they are so questioning even for small things.

IIM Sambalpur: Odisha's Institute of National importance.

Placements: The placement is as per the industry standards, considering the grim market it is decent but can be better as the conditions are up. The top recruiting firms are ICICI, Asian Paints, Accenture, Adani, and many more. 85% of the batch of 2024-26 is placed for summer internships, and the final leg is ongoing. The highest package is Rs. 90,000 per month.

Infrastructure: Classrooms are high-tech-enabled and have 80-90 capacity. The infrastructure, like the library, academic block, sports complex, open-air theater, and auditorium, is all immensely well-maintained and good. The hostels are good and can be maintained more and the mess food is decent hence there is room for improvement.

Faculty: Course curriculum is hectic, but faculty members are great, hence, there is a lot of learning in the two years of MBA. There are 6 terms in total, and each term is 3 months long and has two written examinations mid-term and end-term. The constant grooming ensures the students are industry-ready.

Other: There are a plethora of clubs and committees that provide holistic growth to students. The annual fest, Ethos, is a spectacle.

Learning Experience: Learning platforms are accessible by us in both the sources such as online and offline.Sometimes teachers won't cover the whole syllabus due to insufficient time period.

Placements: Placement features are so good,like required setup for taking tests for placements were readily available for all the Students facing placements.As very minimal package offered by the recruiting companies would be 3.2 lakhs for a year.Placement trainings are highly hectic to handle sometimes.

Faculty: Records,assignments and other home work should be submitted in given time schedule.Because teachers put marks for internals based on such works.Teachers have moderate level of experience in teaching,but few of them were experienced more than 10 years in the field of teaching.

I am satisfied with IIM Sambalpur till now. It is a good college.

Placements: I am a first-year student (currently in 2nd semester), the strength of our batch is 320 but now it's 315. We have 76% girls in our batch which is divided into 4 sections. Our batch is currently going through the summer placement process and our senior batch is as well (for finals). For the previous batch, the highest salary package offered was around 23 LPA. Average salary package offered was around 13 LPA. Recruiting companies are ICICI Bank, Micron Technology, and Gartner for summer placements. Apart from this, we have many startup companies visiting our campus. Major companies come to offer marketing roles, and they are startup or not-so-famous FMCGs. (You will not get HUL, Loreal, or Ogilvy here).

Infrastructure: Infrastructure is amazing at IIM Sambalpur because the new campus is hardly a year old (it was inaugurated in Feb 2024). We have proper furniture in our hostel rooms (study table with study lamp, night light, normal light, spacious Almira, 2 different cupboards for placing books, and side table) and AC in each room. Rooms are for individuals, help is provided by the college itself for cleaning our rooms daily. Our campus is across 200 acres and it's huge. It has lush greenery and everything you can expect. We have sensor lights in our corridors. 8 people share 3 bathrooms in our hostels. It's a beautiful campus. We have a huge sports complex containing a gym, squash room, billiards, yoga, dance room, table tennis, badminton court, and football ground. Our institute has recently started boating activities because we have a huge pond inside our campus. Also, we have a helipad at our campus. For facilities, we have a parlor, and 3 shops for snacks like burgers and other food items. We have a small mart for our daily needs inside the campus. Wi-Fi is available at all hostels, academic areas, mart, and libraries. Our classrooms are extra smart with mics installed in our ceiling. Each classroom has 2 projectors, LED screens with 9 whiteboards, and a CCTV camera in the class. There are speakers for teaching and small stadium-like seating arrangements. Every seat has a mobile/laptop charging point. The food available at our campus is pretty good. Our menu changes every month. We have 4 meals each day (breakfast, lunch, snacks, and dinner). We never get disappointed regarding the quality of food at any IIM (as far as I know). A minimum of 3 curries are provided for lunch and dinner daily (1 dry, 1 liquid, and sambar). We have non-veg and paneer three days a week (overall, the food is good and nutritious). We have a health center within the campus. But we didn't get the required medicine most of the time.

Faculty: If students are joining an IIM, they need not to worry about their studies. Because the faculty members are highly qualified and well-established in their specific field. Each one holds a Ph.D. from an IIM itself. The learning pedagogy emphasizes more on your practical learning and presentation style. We have components like class participation, presentation, group presentation, and quiz. Nearly 70% of every subject is evaluated on these bases. Only 30% is left for the exams. All the subjects are covered by solving real-life case studies in the corporate world. We have 3 semesters in a year, each semester of 3 months. Each semester has 2 exams (midterm and end-term) so you will become habitual in giving exams every 30-40 days. We have relative marking, which means we have percentile not percentage. 30% of the highest marks scored are passing marks for a batch. It is really hard to fail because nearly 70% of your component is already non-exam-based. Because it is relatively marking. It is hard to get good grades because it is very competitive. We also have a feedback system before every exam, where we can provide our feedback regarding the course. If you are not comfortable with the course or faculty your class can get it changed.

Other: The value for money is not that good as compared to new Iims or BLACKI. Because IIM Sambalpur is a baby IIM, it takes time to build a huge network with the corporates for hiring like the old Iims have. Also, Sambalpur has heavily increased its fee from the last 2 batches. It has increased by 8-9 Lacs because, till the batch of 2022-2024, the fee was nearly 13 Lacs. From 2023, the fee structure is increased to 21-22 Lacs, because IIM Sambalpur shifted to its campus, hardly a year ago. Also, if a student is from the finance department, it's better not to consider IIM Sambalpur because they will encounter very few companies visiting their campus for finance. The roles offered here are mainly marketing and sales roles. Also, the companies like HUL, Loreal, Ogilvy, and big FMCGs do not visit here. There are scholarships offered at every IIM. So, we also have scholarships based on merit and based on caste as well. We have our annual fest ETHOS, it is a three-day fest in our college. We have 25 clubs and committees for students' interests like drama, music, literature, marketing, finance, operations, product management, consulting, HR, and many more.
