GATE GOAPS 2027: GOAPS stands for GATE Online Application Processing System. IIT Madras will activate the GOAPS portal for registration on August 27, 2026. Candidates appearing for the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering will have to register at GATE GOAPS 2027 within the given deadline. GATE 2027 Official Dates

IIT Madras have launched the official GATE 2027 website. Registration will be done on the GOAPS portal 2027 to get an enrollment ID and password. Candidates are advised to check GATE 2027 exam dates in order to check the status of the events. 

What is a GOAPS Portal in GATE 2027?

The GOAPS is the official login portal used for various GATE exam-related activities. To access the GOAPS, it is mandatory to register. With the help of the portal, candidates will be able to fill the GATE 2027 application form, edit their form, download their hall ticket, check GATE results, download their scorecard and more. 

How to create an account at GATE GOAPS Portal 2027

Creating an account on the GOAPS portal is linked to the GATE registration. It is the first stage of the admission process. The following details are required to create an account on GOAPS: Full name of the candidate, Date of birth, Valid email ID and Mobile number. 

To create an account on the GOAPS portal, candidates can follow the steps below -

  • Visit the GATE official website
  • Then click on the GATE Application Portal/GOAPS portal
  • Then select “New Candidate Registration” and enter the required details (as mentioned above)
  • Once the registration is complete, candidates will receive an enrollment ID

After receiving the GATE enrollment ID, candidates must create a unique GATE password (around 8 to 15 characters) during enrollment. 

NOTE: The GATE enrolment ID and password are login credentials to access GATE login

Every candidate registering at GOAPS will be provided with an enrollment ID

The candidate must choose a strong password while registering to get the enrollment ID

After registration, an email containing the GOAPS enrollment ID will be sent to the candidate

Creating a password is mandatory for future GATE candidates login. The GATE password must be 8 to 15 characters.

This enrollment ID will be used as a reference throughout the admission process. 

Ensure to keep your password safe, secure, and confidential.

How to fill the GATE 2027 Application Form through GOAPS Portal?

The first use of the GATE candidate login is during the registration process. While filling the application form, applicants are advised to keep all their information and documents ready. The stages of the application form include the following -

  • Register to get the enrollment ID and password.
  • Log in using the credentials
  • Fill out the personal, educational qualification, address, choice of paper combination, exam cities, etc. details.
  • Upload the documents as per the specifications.
  • Pay the GATE application fees using the convenient payment mode. 
  • Accept the declaration form and submit the application form. 

You can use the GATE GOAPS portal anytime to download or print the application form till the admission process is active.

After submitting the GATE application form, students can check their application status at GOAPS 2027. To check application status, candidates must log in using their credentials to check the status of the application form. 

How to retrieve forgotten GATE credentials using candidate login

In case candidates have forgotten or misplaced their GATE candidate credentials, then they can retrieve following the steps below -

  • Click on the link available on the official website and select “forgot credentials”
  • Enter your mail ID or enrollment ID and request an OTP to retrieve your password.
  • The OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number and email address.
  • Change the password and save it for future logins

IIT Guwahati declared GATE result for 2026 on March 19. Candidates can now login with their credentials to download result.

Q:   Can I raise objection after the GATE result has been declared?
A: 

No, objections cannot be raised after the declaration of GATE results. Candidates can only challenge provisional answer key. 

Q:   What is the rank for 40 marks in GATE?
A: 

40 marks in GATE will approximately give a rank between 2000 to 5000 depending on the paper difficulty level and the number of registered candidates in that particular branch.  Obtaining 40 marks is mainly considered average, opening chances to a few new IITs (less popular branches) and NITs.

However, rank for 40 marks in the Graduate Aptitude in Engineering can give a different rank value for different branches and disciplines. For example, 40 marks in GATE CSE can correspond to 9000 to 10000 rank. On the other hand, 40 marks in GATE ME, can correspond to 6000 - 7100 rank. 

Advice to students who secured 40 marks in GATE exam: Better to apply in some state-level colleges or new NITs. 

Q:   What is the highest GATE cutoff score for NIT M.Tech admission?
A: 

The highest GATE cutoff score for NIT M.Tech admission typically ranges from 800 to 850 in the first round. Some of the top NITs include NIT Surathkal, NIT Trichy, and NIT Warangal, accept admissions with GATE score 800 above for branches like EC, CS, ME, and EE.

Qualified candidates have to register at the CCMT portal to participate in the GATE counselling. The counselling process will begin in June/July.
