IIM Sambalpur Course Admission 2027: Cutoff, Fees, Eligibility, CAT and Dates

The admission policy of IIM Sambalpur differes from course to course. Candidates seeking admission in IIM Sambalpur MBA must have a graduation degree from any stream with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks (45% for reserved category) from a recognised University and they need to appear for CAT and match the IIM Sambalpur cutoff to become eligible for further rounds of selection. IIM Sambalpur conducts a PI round for candidates who gets shortlisted after CAT.

For admission to Executive MBA course of IIM Sambalpur the candidate should have a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification in any area of study with a minimum of 50% aggregate. Candidates must complete a bachelor's degree or an equivalent qualification in any discipline with at least 50% aggregate to apply for Executive MBA at IIM Sambalpur. Aspirants must also have a minimum of three-years of post qualification managerial/ entrepreneurial or professional experience.

Aspirants must complete bachelor's degree from a recognised university with at least 50% aggregate (45% aggregate for SC, ST and PwD) to apply for MBA programme at IIM Sambalpur. IIM Sambalpur MBA admission is entirely entrance-based. Students seeking to apply for the programme must appear for the accepted entrance exam. Yes CAT syllabus is difficult to crack if you do not have enough time. There are three subjects in CAT- VARC, DILR and Quantitative Aptitude. Most of candidates find RC passages tough to crack. In Quants, Arithmetic, Algebra and Geometry pose significant challenge during preparation. In DILR, Reasoning questions often turnout to be tricky and confusion.

IIM Sambalpur admission is a three-stage process. The selection is based on CAT, pre-personal interview shortlisting, personal interview and final merit list. Candidates are selected based on the pre-determined sectional and overall CAT cutoff percentile. 

Aspirants are selected for the Pre-PI round. The Pre-PI Score is calculated out of 80. It is determined for MBA by considering below parameters:

• Class 10 = 3
• Class 12 = 3
• Graduation = 4
• Work Experience = 20
• Gender Diversity = 5

Aspirants have to first pass CAT for selection. Candidates need to score equal or above the qualifying cutoff to get selected for PI round.  Students also have to apply on the institute's website via link they receive on mail. The institute also considers academic performance, work experience and gender diversity for final selection. Once the seat is alloted, aspirants need to confirm their seat by paying the course fees.

Students shortlisted in stage-1 based on their CAT score receive an email to complete the IIM Sambalpur application form. A Pre-PI score is calculated out of 75 as follows:

In case of withdrawal of MBA admission, IIM Sambalpur refunds fee to aspirants after deduction of INR 1,000 as processing charges. Students have to send their refund request to admission office by the stipulated date. 

In case no. of candidates accepting admission offer exceed planned intake, refund is then processed on first-come-first-serve basis. No refund request is entertained if no. of candidates accepting admission offer is less than or equal to the planned intake for the year.

If a aspirant wants to withdraw from MBA programme on or after programme registration date but before term-1 classes start date, refund request is only considered if there are more registered aspirants than planned intake. In this case, amount paid by student is refunded after deduction of withdrawal amount of INR 50,00, which includes the paid caution money.
