Skillshare courses are structured in the setup of traditional online learning. This includes video-based lessons which are organized and displayed at the right of the video playback screen in the web browser version. This makes it easier to toggle between lessons and quickly see the way the course has been organized. 1-on-1 Sessions on Skillshare operate through Superpeer which has been acquired in March 2024. This has been integrated into the teaching tool of Skillshare. Teachers are allowed to offer sessions on any topic but these topics must follow Skillshare's content guidelines. Planning assistance is  also available to help teachers in focusing on their sessions effectively. Teachers have the ability to decide the session length which may vary between 30-60 minutes. Participants can book sessions without needing Skillshare or Superpeer accounts. This setup aims to provide personalized learning experiences, fostering direct interaction between teachers and students for skill enhancement and creative development.

Skillshare 1-on-1 Sessions offer personalized guidance from Skillshare teachers through private video calls, facilitated via Superpeer. These sessions are available for both Skillshare members and non-members. This allows participants to receive advice on creative projects, career development, and portfolio feedback. 

To join a session, users can browse available options on the teacher's profile or the dedicated 1-on-1 Sessions landing page, select a suitable time, provide necessary details, and complete payment. Sessions typically use Superpeer's browser-based platform, ensuring accessibility across devices without requiring additional software. 

Participants receive a confirmation email with a video conferencing link, simplifying the process of joining their scheduled session. For flexibility, cancellations or rescheduling can be managed up to 4 hours before the session, and refund requests are handled through contacting Superpeer within 48 hours post-session. 

Students can register for a Live Session via Eventbrite, they will receive a Zoom link via email. The student will be asked to join when it is the time for the event. When it is time to log on, the student can follow that link from the email to join Live Session. Students must note that they will need to install the Zoom App on their system in order to participate in the Live Session. If the student cannot join the live session on time, they can still see the recorded session that will be mailed to them. Students can watch it in their own time.

Skillshare works primarily on a subscription-based model, which means most of its courses are not free. However, the platform offers a free trial period for new users, which lasts between 7 to 30 days depending on current promotions. 

During this trial, users can access the entire course catalogue without charge, allowing them to explore the full range of premium content before committing to a paid subscription.

For those who decide to continue beyond the trial, Skillshare requires a paid membership. This subscription grants unlimited access to all courses on the platform. The cost structure typically includes monthly and annual plans, with the annual plan offering a discounted rate compared to paying month-by-month.
