What are the course deliverables?

Engage teachers and other professional educators in the study of rich literacy practices from early childhood through to adolescence and adulthood
Focus on providing professional community and opportunities for practitioners to engage with the literature
Intentionally consider how the literature can connect to practice
Invite students to engage in self-inquiry and reflect critically on the current literacy practices, both in and out of school, that extend across local, national and global contexts
Focus on the many different rich, multiethnic and multilingual contexts of literacy learning in schools and communities

This course is designed to prepare educators with advanced knowledge and skills in literacy instruction and intervention
This course focuses on equipping educators to address the diverse literacy needs of students, including reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills across various contexts and grade levels

Education: Bachelor's degree
Minimum GPA of 76% average on all senior-level credits
Two years full-time teaching experience or an equivalent combination of engagements within schools, community centres, non-governmental organizations and other education-oriented environments
