The online/distance degrees offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Annamalai University are valid. Previously, the University Grants Commission (UGC) did not approve its courses starting from 2015. However, Annamalai University DDE  received relief from the Madras High Court in an order dated 21.01.2023. Subsequently, following a reassessment by the UGC, Annamalai DDE achieved a qualifying score of 3.38, which led to extending the validity of its programmes until 2027.

Annamalai University BCom syllabus follows a semester pattern. Each semester, students study various types of subjects, such as Core, Elective, and Value Adding. The core subjects, such as Basics of Accounting, Management Concepts, etc., help students build a foundation in the fields of Commerce and Management.

Second semester onwards, students also study departmental electives. The university also incorporates various value-adding courses to make students industry ready.

The fees for UG courses at Annamalai University Tamil Nadu is very less comparatively to other colleges it is around INR 3,000-10,000 per year for courses like BFA and BSc and they are similar but a little high for B.Tech courses.
