Last year, the total number of exam cities was 4,097 and it is expected that the number increased this year. The number of exam cities in India has also increased this year. Q:   Has NTA removed any city from the NEET 2024 exam city list?

A:

Yes, NTA removed three cities from the NEET 2024 exam city list in India. These three cities are Malegaon in Maharashtra, Rairangpur in Odisha and Faizabad in Uttar Pradesh. NEET 2024 City Intimation Slip

How to Download NEET 2024 Advance Intimation of Exam City Slip

Candidates will have to follow the steps given below to download the advance intimation of exam city slip for NEET 2024:

  • Click on the link 'Click Here for City Intimation'
  • Enter NEET 2024 Application Number and Date of Birth
  • Enter the Security Pin
  • Download the NEET 2024 City Allotment Slip

Q:   When did NTA release the NEET advance intimation to exam city slip?

A:

NTA released the NEET 2024 advance intimation to exam city slip on April 24, 2024. The document has to be downloaded online by logging in to the exam website with the registration credentials. The advance intimation to exam city slip carries the name of the city where candidates' NEET 2024 exam centre will be located. The actual exam centre address will be provided on the NEET 2024 admit card.

Q:   Can I request to change my NEET exam city after receiving the NEET city slip?

A:

No, once the NEET city slip is issued by NTA, it is not permitted to request for change in the exam city. NTA tries to allot the NEET exam city based on candidates' first preference. However, there may be situations where it is not possible to allot the preferred city. Hence, candidates have to make the necessary travel or accommodation arrangements accordingly, instead of approaching NTA to change the exam city.

Q:   What is the difference between the NEET city allotment slip and NEET admit card?

A:

The NEET city allotment slip is not the same as the NEET admit card. While the NEET city intimation slip only informs candidates about the exam city and the state, the NEET admit card mentions the exact name and address of the NEET exam centre allotted to candidates. Apart from this, the admit card of NEET also carries the exam day instructions and guidelines, and the Self Declaration Undertaking which must be filled and signed by candidates. The NEET admit card also carries fields for parents', candidates' and invigilators' signatures. While parents' signatures have to be made on the document in advance, candidates and invigilators have to sign during the exam. Last but not the least, the NEET admit card is the mandatory document to be carried to the exam centre, without which candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam. On the other hand, it is not mandatory to carry the NEET city allotment slip to the exam centre or for further events such as counselling or institute reporting.

How to Choose the Exam Centre for NEET 2024?

Candidates will have to select the exam centre while filling the NEET application form 2024. Out of the total number of exam cities, they have to select two exam cities in decreasing order of their preference and priority. Till 2022, candidates could select four cities. The list of cities appearing in the drop-down menu will be limited based on the present and permanent address provided during the NEET 2024 registration process. Selecting the feasible NEET exam centre 2024 is crucial to avoid any delay in reaching the centre. While selecting the exam centre city, candidates should consider the distance, availability of modes of transport and last but not least, familiarity with the route to the centre.

Hence, candidates should choose the exam city which is closest to their residence. Travelling on the day of the examination can be a hectic task and may cause panic/anxiety deterring the performance. NTA designates the NEET exam centre based on preferences filled by the candidates according to the availability of seats at the corresponding exam centre. The exam centres of NEET 2024 will be allotted keeping in mind the preferences chosen by the candidate such as the language and the centre date so that candidates can have assistance in their regional language. According to the NTA policies and guidelines, the centre allotted to the candidates can not be changed thereafter.

Q:   I live in Noida. Can I choose Jaipur as the NEET exam city preference?

A:

The choice of exam city is limited to your permanent and present address. If you have mentioned Jaipur, Rajasthan as your permanent or present address, then you can choose Jaipur as an exam city, otherwise it would not appear in the drop-down menu. Similarly, once you enter your present address as Noida, the exam city options for the NEET 2024 exam centre will be limited to Delhi and Uttar Pradesh only. If your present address in Noida but permanent address is in Jaipur, then you may have the option to select Jaipur as the exam city. Hence, candidates must be careful while filling the application form and entering their address.

Q:   How many city preference candidates can submit while selecting the NTA NEET exam centre?

A:

Candidates will be allowed to enter only two cities in the order of their preference. Till 2022, candidates could enter as many as four cities. Last year, NTA reduced the number of exam city choice. The list of exam cities in the dropdown menu will be based on the permanent and present address entered by candidates in the registration form of NEET. This would ensure that candidates are allotted a city in or near their present and permanent address. This also led to reduction in choosing other cities mistakenly.

Q:   I want to choose Marathi as the medium for NEET Question Paper. Can I choose Delhi as my NEET exam centre?

A:
No, NTA has notified language-wise exam city demarcation. Regional languages are restricted by geographical boundaries. Hence, if you want to choose Marathi as the medium of examination, you will have to choose a NEET test centre in Maharashtra only. Another situation where you can select the NEET exam city in Delhi while opting for NEET Marathi question paper is to give a Delhi address as your permanent or present address. Candidates choosing Delhi as a NEET exam centre can choose English Hindi Punjabi and Urdu question paper mediums.

Q:   I want to select English as the language of my NEET question paper. Which city should I choose?

A:

You can choose any exam centre of NEET 2025. English is available at centres across the country. English is a universal language and medium of NEET question paper. The exam city selection option becomes limited once candidates choose a regional language, except Hindi. Apart from the medium of the question factor, the other factor that plays a role in the NEET exam centre city selection is the permanent and present address selected by candidates during the application process.

NEET 2024 Exam Centre Instructions

Candidates needed to follow the instructions given below at the NEET 2024 exam centre:

  • Candidates had to report to the NEET exam centre at the 'reporting time' mentioned on the admit card.

  • The last entry into the NEET 2024 exam centre hall was at 1.30 PM.

  • They should not have carried prohibited items such as geometry/ pencil box, calculator, log table, slide ruler, any paper or textual material, bags, electronic items, mobile phones, etc.

  • Test-takers were not allowed to carry any eatables inside the NEET exam centre. However, diabetic students are allowed to carry fruits/ sugar tablets.

  • Candidates should have left the NEET test centre one by one and must have waited for their turn to avoid crowding outside the centre

  • Candidates were also advised to visit the NEET exam centre 2024 a day before the examination to avoid delays on the exam day and to get familiar with the location.

Q:   What is the time for reporting to the NEET exam centre?

A:

Candidates must reach the NEET exam centre at least an hour in advance to be able to complete the security check process on time. For instance, the exam will commence at 2 PM and candidates should reach the centre by 1 PM. The last entry to the NEET exam centre will be at 1.30 PM. The entry process will start from 12.30 pm onwards. In case candidates reach the centre later than 1.30 PM, they will not be allowed entry despite multiple requests. FAQs Regarding NEET 2024 Exam Centres

Read the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) regarding NEET 2024 centres.

Q:   Can I change my NEET exam centre 2024 after the application process?

A:

The NEET exam centre 2024 can only be changed during the application correction window. No changes can be made after the last date of submission of the NEET 2024 application form or after the conclusion of the application correction process. Once NTA releases the advance intimation to exam city slip, candidates will be appraised of their NEET exam city. The city will be one of the two entered by candidates during the application process.

Q:   Is it possible to get an NTA NEET exam centre that I did not choose?

A:
Yes, it is possible in exceptional situations. NTA reserves the right to allocate a NEET exam centre in a city other than the ones specified by you. Centre allocations are subjected to the availability of seats at the chosen centre. However, the chances are low since this year onwards NTA has allowed only two exam city selection. Also, the exam authorities endeavour to allot NEET exam centre in the preferred city, if not, then it will be allotted to the second preferred city for candidates' convenience.

Q:   What was the NEET admit card 2024 release date?

A:

NTA released the NEET 2024 admit card on May 2, three days before the exam. NTA will re-conduct NEET 2024 exam on June 23 for 1,563 candidates who had been awarded grace marks for loss of time at the exam centre. For such candidates, NTA will likely release the NEET admit card 2024 by June 20, 2024. The exam authorites may also send the hall tickets to them by email.

Prior to the release of the NEET 2024 admit card, NTA released the advance intimation of exam city slip for NEET 2024, on April 24, 2024. The document mentions the city of the NEET exam centre allotted to candidates. Generally, NTA does not release the NEET admit card release date in advance. Registered candidates will have to log in to the NEET website with the registration credentials to download the admit card of NEET 2024. But it is unlikely that NTA will release city intimation slip for the re-NEET 2024.

Q:   Can I change the NEET exam centre after the release of admit card?

A:

No, you are not permitted to change the NEET centre 2024 after the release of admit card. Moreover, since the admit card is released around a week prior to the exam date, there is less scope of getting the centre changed. In case of an emergency, candidates are advised to contact NTA to change the exam city or centre. Since NTA will allot the exam centre in either of the preferred cities, test-takers should not have any difficulty in getting the exam city or centre of their preference.

Q:   Will candidates be provided with face masks at the NEET exam centres?

A:
Till last year, candidates were provided N95 masks at the NEET exam centre which was mandatory to be used by candidates. They had to dispose of their own masks before entering the exam centre at the designated bin. However, since the intensity of Covid has reduced as compared to the last two years, this year candidates may not be provided masks at the centre. The information will be confirmed after the release of the NEET admit card. However, it is recommended that they wear face masks for the entire duration. This should be done to ensure their and other test-takers' safety.
