A good academic and campus life, but bad placements.
Placements: 5-10% students from my course were placed. The lowest package is around 3 LPA, and the highest package is around 6 LPA. Top recruiters are Azim Premji Foundation and Tata Trust. 80% of the students interested in internships got internships in their respective occupational track in NGOs and social sector organisations. Top roles offered in my course were teacher, researcher and programme assistants.
Infrastructure: Azim Premji University have Wi-Fi-enabled and projector-equipped classrooms, and there is a huge library. The Maths department has a Maths studio and a Maths space. The campus is spread across 90 acres. The hostel is well maintained with furnished rooms, a kitchen on every floor, hygienic washrooms, recreational common areas and laundry service. There is a 24/7 power and water facility. The mess food is hygienic, but the taste is average. There is a 24/7 medical facility with nurses, medicine and an emergency ambulance. Students have access to a sports ground, gym and indoor games.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good and the teacher-student ratio is also good, but the course curriculum is not that relevant, as the course doesn't focus on placements. Hence, it doesn't make the students industry-ready.
Other: I chose this course because I was interested in Maths. The course should be internship-oriented. Azim Premji University has a lot of academic events, festival celebrations and a college fest once every year. The campus surroundings are not good as the campus is on the outskirts of the city. The students from a poor background get a scholarship as high as 100%. We have essential extracurricular activities related to courses, so a lot of extracurricular activities take place in Azim Premji University.

B.Sc. in Biology - Batch of 2029
4.4

Infrastructure is amazing, and I will have a great campus life.
Placements: Placement percentage is not much, approximately 30 to 40% students are placed in the UG programme. About 10 to 12 LPA is the highest package, and 4 to 6 LPA is the average package in the social sector and ngo of Azim Premji Foundation and Wipro, but most of the students got internships in NGOs, such as in arts and culture programmes, and many more.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is amazing and has Asias tallest hostel building and a Eco friendly campus with all types of labs, Gulnanoo Premji library, and offers every sport and gives you freedom to explore in various fields, and the entire campus has free Wi-Fi access.
Faculty: Faculty is very helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive. They teach very clearly, and you should prefer the program here. If you want to continue your further higher studies in that subject, and semester exams are not so easy, but not so hard.

The campus is good but not best.
Placements: Only 5-10% of students get campus placements, and the package that company offers is very low. The highest package is around 6 LPA, and the lowest package is around 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Azim Premji Foundation and Tata Trust. No one gets any internship in any company but campus provides an assistantship in which they pay Rs. 6,000. Top role in our course is a researcher.
Infrastructure: Everything is best. Hostel rooms are good, not best. The food is not good at all. They also have 24X7 medical team. Sports, lab, and games are best in class.
Faculty: Teaching quality is very bad, we have to learn by ourselves. Course curriculum is not relevant at all and we learn nothing just what we have learned in 11-12th standard. Exams are too difficult because what they teach and what they ask are totally different.
Other: That is my biggest mistake, and nothing is the best. Everything should be improved. The fest is like a school function. Campus also provides 100% scholarships to those students whose family income is less than 3 lakhs.

M.A. in Development - Batch of 2023

5Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
Overall best university for M.A. in the Development Course.
Placements: A record of 95% placement has been maintained over the last several years in our college. Placements for the 2020-22 batch are offered with an average salary of 22 LPA and a median salary of 12 LPA, up 20% on average, compared to the previous year. Top recruiters are the World Bank, UNO, EY, etc. About 90% of students got internship opportunities.
Infrastructure: The classroom facilities are average. There are no projectors in B.Teach courses. However, the conference and assembly halls are well-equipped and technologically advanced. The library has a nice collection of books. Don't expect much sport or a canteen.
Faculty: Educators are supportive, highly skilled, and informed. It is represented in a hands-on manner, allowing students to grasp it easily. The lesson plan is outstanding and supports students in grasping the concepts efficiently and swiftly. It readies students for a profession in the field. Semester exams are quite simple. The percentage of students who passed was 90%.

B.A. in Social Science - Batch of 2027
4.8
4Placements5Infrastructure5Faculty5Crowd & Campus Life5Value for Money
University focuses on empowering rural students.
Placements: I am a 2023 batch student in B.A. in social science program at APU. The highest package is 9 LPA while the average salary is from 5 LPA - 6 LPA. Top recruiters are well-famous platforms like tech for India, etc. Also, internship opportunities at the university are a lot. Internships are provided either by the university itself or by collaborated NGOs and research platforms. The university has a good placement area but the chances are mostly given to post-graduate students rather than UG students.
Infrastructure: Campus is very good and full of greenery while the classrooms are full of technology including smart boards, Wi-Fi connections, and availability of laptops. The library is huge with more than 1 lakh resources. University has 40 floors of residences for students, seminar halls, and a mess where they provide nutritious food. There are medical rooms, well well-structured club system, and sports facilities that feels like home.
Faculty: Faculty members at the university are very helpful and with very good knowledge in their field. The learning at the university is student-centered. The curriculum is developed by our own professors. The curriculum focuses on the students' interests and needs. Whether it is social science or other programs along with lectures at universities. They have very interesting ways of teaching where we have field work, internships, and engaging classes full of presentations and student discussions. Passing the courses is also not tough even with actively attending the classes can lead to high marks.
Other: For me, the university is very helpful, coming from a Hindi background to this university where English is a way for us to go. I am developing on campus, and I am not limited only to the books. I am actually exploring the world through real life-based learning at the university. The thing university can improve is by adding more options in PG courses like M.Sc. which they are actually planning to establish in the upcoming years. Overall, this university is very good for growth and achieving meaningful learning.

B.Sc. in Physics - Batch of 2028

4Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Decent placements, great faculty, good campus life.
Placements: The placement information has not yet been updated and is not publicly available. Since I am not in the graduation batch of this year, I don't have much information. I heard from a few of my seniors that they got into some companies, and most of them are NGOs. So far, I heard people got an 8 Lacs package as well, and more information is yet to be shared.
Infrastructure: I am doing a B.Sc. Physics. For my course, there are Physics labs which are accessible all the time (you need permission). You are provided with materials and support from lab technicians and seniors as well if you are working on a project. There will be labs happening, which give us practical knowledge. You have great infrastructure (look for image on Google). Food is decent, but eventually you will get bored. Sports and health facilities are fine.
Faculty: Professors are highly qualified and knowledgeable. The best part of APU is its faculty. You find great and fun teachers. You will also find strict teachers. While a bit of effort can help you pass the semester, you need to work hard to get good grades. I don't find much interest in this course, so I fail to take it seriously. I cannot tell whether it is making students industry-ready. Few additional courses feel like a waste of time, like PRE. Overall, it is good.
Other: This campus has a lot of extracurricular activities and events. Most events are student-led. You get a lot of freedom in here. Though the food issue is there, you find this campus overall a better place. They provide financial aid to the people in need, as they firmly believe in their mission and vision, "Equity". I feel the placement packages are not so attractive. They call NGOs for placements. You would want good packages, too, right?
