Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, also known as HITS, was established in 1985 and is located in Kelambakkan, Chennai. It is a member of AIU and is accredited by the IAO, NBA,  and NAAC with an 'A' Grade. Further, it is a deemed-to-be University and is recognised by the UGC. At present, the university offers more than 100 courses in diverse streams such as Engineering, Management, Law, Humanities, Science, and more. Apart from this, the university has a sprawling campus of over 150 acres with all the modern facilities. 

HITSEEE 2026 will be conducted from April 2026 to May 2026. The Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science will start the admission process for HITSEEE 2026 from April 2026. The mode of the HITSEEE 2026 application form is online, with an application fee cost of INR 2129/-  for all categories.

The admission cycle of Hindustan University typically begins with the release of the application forms in April every year. Admission to all the courses is mainly based on the university’s in-house entrance exam, i.e., HITSEEE & HITSCAT. Hindustan University conducts HITSEEE for providing admission to BTech courses.

In the first two semesters of the course, candidates have to study core subjects. From the third semester, the subjects are more specialisation specific. Mentioned below are some of the topics covered in the course:

If the candidate doesn’t accept the seat allocated to him or her, the HITSCAT 2025 allotment will be canceled. Also, the seat in that case will be allocated to the candidate next in the order of merit. So, it is the responsibility of the candidate to pay the seat-acceptance fee by the given deadline.

Yes, aspirants of HITS BTech course need to take part in HITSEEE counselling. The counselling process involves registration, choice filling, seat allotment, document verification, fee payment, etc. It generally begins soon after the entrance test result declaration. The seats are allotted during counselling as per the applicants rank secured in the exam.

The institute is ranked by various bodies, such as NIRF, Business Today, and Times. NIRF has ranked the institute #101-125 band among other popular Management institutes. In 2024, HITS Chennai's ranking by Times was 44. 

At the UG level, Hindustan University offers a four-year BTech course across 15 specialisations, including two specialisations, which are offered in collaboration with IBM. These specialisations are Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, Information Technology, Biomedical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, CSE (in collaboration with IBM), etc. These specialisations are further divided into multiple sub-specialisations.
