HITS Chennai is known for its industry-collaborated programmes in partnership with IBM, Volkswagen and HTC-ITMR. These courses are imparted through 13 on-campus schools and centres of studies under various departments. In addition to this, the University houses 14 Research Centres of Excellence with state-of-the-art laboratories and facilities. It also comprises the Office of International Affairs (OIA) which has an aim to encourage study abroad programmes and international exchange of faculty and students. In 2015, Hindustan Technology Business Incubator (HTBI) and Hindustan Entrepreneurship & Innovation Centre (HEIC) were inaugurated in association with NEN to encourage the entrepreneurial talent and spirits of the students. The University also has TIFAC-CORE that aims at training the students in Aircraft Maintenance to meet the needs of the ever-growing Aviation sector. HITS offers various scholarships to the students belonging to SC/ ST/ EWS category. Meritorious students are also given the privilege of scholarships. Recently, the University has added scholarship schemes for the wards of COVID warriors as well. All Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science scholarship programmes are mentioned below:
1. COVID Martyr’s Scholarship: Selected wards of COVID warriors, who have lost their lives protecting Corona-affected people, will be given complete tuition fee waiver in the stream of their choice, provided they meet the eligibility norms. Their boarding and lodging expenses will also be covered under this scheme. The Institute will additionally pay a monthly stipend to the eligible students.
2. COVID Frontline Warriors Scholarship:Â This scheme will be granted to the wards of doctors, healthcare professionals, government and service personnel who have been affected by the pandemic or lost their lives. It will be offered for a two-year period with 100 scholarships across all courses.

4. Dr KCGÂ Verghese Memorial Foundation Scholarships/Aid:Â Financial aid is provided to meritorious and deserving students towards their education and medical relief is given to the poor under this scheme. It was brought in effect in the memory of the founder & chairman of the Institute- Dr KCG Verghese.Â
5. Dr Elizabeth Verghese Founder Scholarship:Â This scholarship has been instituted to empower girls with academic potential to pursue higher education and who are from lower-income families.
6. Hindustan Loyalty Scholarship: This Scholarship is available for the alumni of the Hindustan Group of Institutions (HGI). Allocation of scholarship is subject to norms and the scrutiny of the scholarship committee.
