The exam is now scheduled from May 21 to Jun 2 and then on Jun 5 and Jun 6. HITSEEE 2023 applications started on Dec 7 for BTech, BArch, and BDes 2023; the last date for the same was Apr 30. Counselling will be held from May 23 to May 31. HITSCAT 2023 applications started on Dec 14 for all UG courses and MBA 2023; the last date was May 14. Entrance exam is scheduled on May 17 and May 18, while results will be announced on May 22. Admissions to all PG programs are also open. Students can go to the official website to apply.

The University offers a plethora of full-time courses across various streams such as Engineering, Management, Humanities, Arts, Law, etc. The duration of the majority of PG programmes is two years. Hindustan University Scholarships 2023
HITS offers various scholarships to students belonging to SC/ ST/ EWS category. Meritorious students are also given the privilege of scholarships. Recently, the University has added scholarship schemes for the wards of COVID warriors as well. The HITS now offers COVID Martyr’s Scholarship. Under this, the Selected wards of COVID warriors, who have lost their lives protecting Corona-affected people, will be given a complete tuition fee waiver in the stream of their choice, provided they meet the eligibility norms. The student's boarding and lodging expenses will also be covered under this scheme. The Institute will additionally pay a monthly stipend to the eligible students. Another scholarship Covid Frontline Warrior Scholarship will be awarded for the wards of Doctors, Healthcare professionals, government and Service personnel who have participated in protecting our countrymen during the COVID Pandemic. The scholarship covers a period of two years across all courses to those who meet the basic laid down norms such as marks in qualifying exams etc.

Established in 1985, Hindustan College of Engineering was conferred the status of a university under the name Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science (HITS). It is a deemed-to-be University recognised by the UGC, the AICTE, the AIMA, the SAE International, AIAA, and is a member of AIU and is accredited by the IAO, NAAC with an 'A' Grade, and NBA. The University has been recently awarded 'QS E-Learning Excellence for Academic Digitisation (LEAD)' Certification in 2020 and is ranked 25 among the deemed universities in India, 9 in Tamil Nadu, and 4 in Chennai in the Engineering category by NIRF in 2020. Under Architecture rankings among deemed universities in India, HITS has achieved the fourth position in India and first in Tamil Nadu. At present, the University offers more than 100 courses at UG and PG level in diverse streams, such as Engineering, Management, Law, Humanities, Science, etc. Apart from the full-time courses, HITS also offers distance learning programmes through its Centre for Online and Distance Learning (CODL).
