On All Courses
Q:   Is KKHSOU, Assam good for BBA?
A:

KKHSOU (Krishna Kanta Handique State Open University) in Assam is offering a pretty decent BBA course for distance learners. This is under UGC recognition, which maintains its credibility, and focuses on flexibility for working students. Core business subjects, such as management, marketing, and finance, are included in the curriculum, although they do not include the hands-on rigor developed by A-grade institutes such as IIMs or private universities.

Faculty assistance is available, but again, this is limited due to the open university model that requires increased reliance on self-study. Hence jobs and placements are not a strong point since the university targets self-paced learners and not on-campus recruitment. It's good in terms of being cheap and accessible, but in terms of prestige or job prospects, it might be beaten by some conventional universities. For students from Assam seeking a recognised degree, it is a good choice.

Q:   Does KKHSOU offer scholarship to its students?
A:

Yes, KKHSOU offers scholarships to students based on both need and merit basis. KKHSOU students belonging to reserved categories, such as Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST), are eligible for fee exemption or reimbursement from KKHSOU. However, all of it depends on the KKHSOU university scholarship rules and regulations. Additionally, all these students are eligible for government scholarships as well. Some of the KKHSOU scholarships are:

  • Scholarship for Female Civil Service Aspirants
  • Merit-Based Scholarships
  • Financial Aid for Economically Weaker Sections
  • SC/ ST Post-Matric Scholarship
  • Minority Scholarship
  • Scholarship for Persons with Disabilities (PwD)
Q:   What is the age limit to apply for admission at KKHSOU, Assam?
A:

A 10+2 or equivalent examination passed in any stream including a vocation stream from a recognised board is eligible to take admission at KKHSOU. Additionally students must be a minimum of 18 years of age till the time of admission.

Q:   Why choose Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University?

As a state-open university, Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University offers distance/ part-time education among other open universities.
