While 20% of the total seats for BTech are reserved for students who have passed the JEE Main exam (provided that have the official PRC of the state), the remaining 80% of the seats are filled via the pass out students of Assam CEE. Furthermore, students also have an option to secure lateral entry admission directly to the second year of the BTech course. Admission to BTech Lateral Entry courses is subject to a valid score in JLEE Assam exam.

Gauhati University LLM admission is completely entrance and merit based. While students must have completed/ be pursuing (final year) their UG degree in the field of Law, final subject to a university-level entrance exam conducted by GU.
