SNU gives students opportunities to build careers with minimal cost and great facilities.

Placements: After the completion of the programme, around 65-70 percent of students got placed in different companies. The highest package is 8 LPA, the average is 5 LPA, and the lowest is 3 LPA. Top recruiting companies for our course are Nestled, Amul, Mother Dairy, ITC Foods, etc. No internship programs have been offered for our course up till now. Top roles offered in our course are research assistant, junior scientist, molecular biologist, and genetic engineer.

Infrastructure: All the required apparatus, reagents, incubators, freezer, and all other lab necessities are readily available in the air-conditioned labs. We have 5 labs in our department, including animal and plant biotechnology labs, which are sufficiently equipped for undergrad students. Classrooms are comfortable, spacious, and classes are easier to follow with the help of projectors and whiteboards.

Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified with sharp teaching techniques, making the subjects easier to follow. Their approachable personalities make it easier for students to clear doubts and concepts. The course curriculum equips us with a lot of Biotechnology techniques, theory makes the foundation stronger, and overall it helps build a strong foundation in the subject.

Other: I have always been interested in recombinant DNA techniques, animal biotechnology, etc. So after I completed my higher secondary, I immediately knew I had to enroll in this course. The management can be better, and it is one of the first things that needs improvement.

Placements: After completing the M.Sc. in biotechnology from Sister Nivedita, about 70-80 percent of the students got placed. The highest package offered is 8 LPA. The lowest package offered was 3 LPA, and the average is 5 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Nestle, Amul, Mother Dairy, ITC Food, and Sun Pharma. There are no internship programs offered in our course as of now. Top roles offered are research assistant, junior scientist, molecular biologist, and genetic engineer.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is available in our college. The labs of the biotechnology department are well-equipped. It has almost all the instruments that are required for students pursuing biotechnology in UG and PG. The reagents are orderly arranged. The lab assistants of our department work tremendously to keep everything in its proper place. We have a plant issue culture lab and an animal issue culture lab (not every highly equipped, but enough for UG students). Classrooms are quite big enough to accommodate 60-70 students. We have smart teaching techniques. Our college has its own library with more than 5,000 books.

Faculty: The teachers of our department are extremely qualified, intelligent, and helpful. They teach every topic in extreme detail, which helps the students to create a strong base. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes the students industry-ready. The semester exams are sometimes moderately challenging. The mid-semester exams are extremely challenging most of the time. The pass percentage is about 80 percent.

Other: I always wanted to learn about Biology from a very molecular level. It makes me curious. Also Biology integrated with technology to help human life is something amazing. I wanted to do research work as well. This course gives one a hands-on lab experience. We have Diwali fests in our college. Our college gives up to 90 percent scholarship to students who have 85 percent and above in class 10th and 12th. We have different clubs like dance, music, drama, modelling, and so on. Our seniors here are very sweet. They always help and teach their juniors.

Overall good if you are a nerd, else fest are very less.

Placements: They provide decent placements or at least support for placements. This college is very loyal to its students. TCS and Infosys mass-hire here, too. You can get offers from big companies as well, but you need to apply for them by yourself. The package ranges from 4 LPA to 52 LPA.

Infrastructure: Accommodation is extremely good, and the college has very well-equipped labs with high configuration laptops like i7 processors and 16 GB RAM. It has table tennis, a gym inside, fully air-conditioned classrooms, Wi-Fi in the hostel but not in class, and a library.

Faculty: Faculty is no doubt good, polite, and humble, but in exams, they are so rude. The curriculum doesn't make anyone industry-ready, but it provides you with sources like hackathons so that you can learn about the projects to be done in the industry, and it's taught by seniors.

Other: Very little fest, campus life is not that bad due to college freedom.

My College has a good and safe hostel with several facilities like Wi-Fi, fridge, washing machines, etc. My college has advanced infrastructure with modern classrooms, well-equipped labs, a rich library, and reliable Wi-Fi across the campus. The canteen provides decent food, and medical as well as sports facilities are also available, making student life balanced and secure.

Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified, supportive, and approachable, making concepts easy to understand. The curriculum is well structured and updated to meet industry standards, helping students become career-ready. Semester exams are of moderate difficulty, focusing on both theoretical and practical knowledge. With proper preparation, students can score well, and the overall pass percentage remains high, ensuring good academic results for sincere learners.

Other: It is my dream. It provides justice to all. Till now, the college has organized various events for students, such as trips and campus visits.

Placements: The SNU design department offers us different opportunities for placements. In the 2025 pass-out batch, I personally know people who have been placed in Delhi, Bangalore, and Kolkata, too. It also provides us with internships in our final year.

Infrastructure: We have one classroom for 1st year students, and from 2nd year we have specialisation-based classrooms. 24/7 Wi-Fi and a computer are provided. The food in the canteen is average, but we are also provided with different food trucks.

Faculty: Faculty members are really supportive of your creativity. They help us with every problem that we face. SNU's design department follows the government college curriculum like NID and NIFT. Semester exams are moderate, the marks are dependent on your assignments and projects that are given by the college. Assignments are very creative and fun to do. Overall, you will enjoy studying design at this college. 90% is the pass percentage.

Other: I was very passionate about design and the creative field, which is why I chose to design. I chose SNU because it's very affordable for me, I stay in Kolkata, and if I were to go to another college outside my state, like MIT Pune or Simbiosis, those are very expensive, but the overall studies are the same. Also, SNU provides us with a scholarship according to our class 12 marks, which also helped me. There are different clubs in SNU, like photography, drama, singing, etc., where you can join. SNU also has extracurricular activities like football, cricket, throwball, etc.
