Steps to Get Admission in Central Universities Through CUET 2026
Don't know how to get admission at central universities through CUET? Candidates aspiring to get admission to undergraduate courses based on CUET UG scores at their target central university are required to fill out the CUET UG exam form and appear for the exam. After CUET 2026 for the UG subjects is successfully conducted, the National Testing Agency announces the CUET UG Result, based on which candidates can participate in their target university's admission process, if eligible.

1. Fill CUET exam form
First of all, candidates are required to fill out and submit the CUET application form by mentioning all the required details and uploading the prescribed documents.
2. Take CUET exam

To know the cut off for CUET UG courses, candidates must stay updated with the notification released by the universities for admissions. CUET UG counselling process schedule is announced by the participating universities after the declaration of CUET results. The process will be conducted separately by the universities and it will not be a centralised counselling system. The CUET 2025 counselling process will have the following stages:
- Each participating institute will release its individual rank list of candidates who are eligible to participate in the counselling process of CUET 2025.
- Candidates will have to register online and then appear in online counselling followed by offline counselling.
- Upon seat allotment, candidates will have to pay the admission fee and report to institutes to accept the admission offer.

For admission to undergraduate programmes at central universities accepting CUET UG scores, aspirants must ensure they meet CUET UG eligibility criteria. Candidates can check eligibility requirements for their desired UG course either on Shiksha page, on university's official website, or in admission brochure.
Apart from the course-wise eligibility requirements set by each university, the following are the minimum eligibility requirements that a candidate must meet.
- The candidates must have passed Class 12 or equivalent examination recognized by the target university
- The CUET application must have appeared for the UG subjects based on the CUET UG subject combination of the university.

CUET UG counselling registration last date depends from university to university. Each participating university sets its own counselling registration deadlines. Therefore, candidates must stay updated with admission and cut off dates of universities they wish to apply to. Candidates are suggested to stay updated with CUET 2025 admission dates for individual universities to avoid missing deadlines.
Yes, candidate will have to participate in CUET UG counselling process even if they are class 12th topper. Candidates cannnot get direct admission to central universities without CUET. Class 12th marks are generally used for tie breaking criteria only.
CUET UG total marks is 250 Marks for each subject. Candidates can choose up to five CUET subjects. Each subject paper has 50 questions which will total to 250 marks for each subject. For every correct answer, candidate will get 5 marks. The CUET total marks will be uniform for all 37 subjects. The Total CUET subjects marks can vary depending on the number of subjects chosen by candidates.
