MMCH. A dream that came true for me.
Placements: It is a government medical college. Everyone who passes out gets good placements in different hospitals if they desire to serve, or else we prepare for NEET PG for MD or MS, and then chances of placements increase by 10 times. Many of our seniors get good scores and are admitted for a PG course in a well-known hospital.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is okay. Labs, classrooms, and the library are available, but not that good. It is okay considering the fee in a government college. Hostel rooms are good. 3 or even 4 people stay per room. The mess and canteen are awful. There are no sports facilities in the hostel. It is not required, as we don't get time for that because of the huge syllabus. Considering the hostel, the fee is less than Rs. 1,000, and it is superb.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified. The course curriculum is relevant. It makes students ready for everything that comes along. Semester exams are 70 percent difficult. The pass percentage is 90 percent. Though teachers are qualified. The syllabus is not covered in college. We need to study hard on our own and ace it.
Other: I chose this course to become a doctor. It has a hectic syllabus, but at the end, it's worth it. The university exams should be conducted considering students' health, as we get less time between exams. The college fests are amazing. We get a regular government scholarship if students are eligible.

Absolutely satisfied with NRS.
Placements: NRS Medical College is one of the most reputed colleges in West Bengal. It admits 250 students per batch, and those who complete the 4th-year exams definitely get a one-year mandatory internship with a stipend of Rs. 43,000. Many students from our college also get good ranks in NEET PG and get jobs in top institutions
Infrastructure: At NRS, there is a large central library with all books related to medicine. It is fully furnished with AC. Even all classrooms have ACs and adequate lighting with high-tech devices for teachers to teach. In the hostels, one room is allotted to 3 people, and the mess food is fine. There is a pay-and-eat system where students pay for individual dishes.
Faculty: Teachers at NRS are very knowledgeable in their respective fields. All of them have at least an MBBS and a master’s degree. They teach well and ask students if they have doubts after every lecture. Practical classes are also conducted properly. The course is curriculum-relevant and makes students industry-ready. Three semesters are held per year, and if students study properly, they can pass easily.
Other: I chose this college because I always wanted to become a doctor. One of the best things about this course is that no other course is like MBBS. If the government keeps the college cleaner, it would become a better learning environment. The college also holds an annual fest known as ECSTASY. Many events are conducted, and the most anticipated one is the DJ night on the last day.

As a 2nd year MBBS student, academics are good, but the infrastructure is disappointing.
Placements: Being a 2nd year MBBS student, I know placements are not really a thing in medical colleges like engineering colleges. Here, the main focus is on academics, clinical exposure, and internship. A career depends more on how seriously you study and prepare for future exams.
Infrastructure: As a student here, I honestly feel the infrastructure is one of the weak points of the college. The campus is quite small, and not everything is well-maintained. Basic things are available, but overall, the environment and facilities could have been much better for students.
Faculty: From my experience in MBBS, the faculty is decent, and some professors are really helpful and experienced. The curriculum is vast and exams are quite stressful, so regular self-study is very important. You cannot fully depend on classroom teaching if you want to do well.
Other: One good thing about the college is that you do get decent hospital exposure, which is important in medical studies. Student life is average here and mostly depends on your own friend circle and mindset. Overall, it is okay for serious students, but there are definitely areas where the college needs improvement.

Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Technology - Batch of 2025
Offered by School of Tropical Medicine

It is a good college for B.Sc. MLT.
Placements: The college had a good placement rate. The pass-outs from this college were placed in the best laboratories of India, with good salaries, and qualified for many government exams. It was the best college for the B.Sc. in Laboratory Technology course in West Bengal, with many new learning opportunities.
Infrastructure: Many lab tests were available in our college that don't occur in other colleges. You got hands-on experience in many lab tests, which were commonly done in this college only. There were many opportunities to learn, and excellent practical work. Best in West Bengal, it gave a quick diagnosis.
Faculty: The college had excellent faculty, professors were very sincere, and there were not many students in each batch. So all students got good attention, the student-to-teacher ratio was good, the medical technologists were very helpful, taught new things and shared their experiences.
Other: The student body was like family, no ragging, very united. There were many indoor and outdoor sports for both men and women, such as football, cricket, badminton, chess, carrom, and quiz. There were freshers' parties, the main event of the college, and other included Saraswati Puja, Holi, Iftar party, etc.

The best institute to study Medical Laboratory Technology.
Placements: Direct recruitments are not facilitated in our college, so no point in placements or package. We have to reach the labs on our own after completing the course at this college. Our college provide internship in our own college hospital after the course completion.
Infrastructure: The library is well-maintained and sufficient. Hospital lab facilities are top-notch, but unfortunately, no hostel is provided to us from government to pursue this course. We have to stay in nearby mess/hostels and travel to college every day to attend our classes and duties of respective departments.
Faculty: Faculty members are professors/Doctors of our college hospital, so they are well-qualified to teach and guide us in OPD. They are quite helpful and knowledgeable in teaching us practically. As this course is a professional course, completing this course with good marks indicates a good chance of getting recruited into a lab. Getting marks is not easy, but also not tough, if you study well and, most importantly, attend your duties in hospital departments seriously. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: I chose it because we can serve people through this course. A hostel can be arranged for our course in this college. Fests can be organized in our college in a constructive way.

MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery - Batch of 2028
Offered by IQ City Medical College
4.2

Reality of IQ City Medical College and Hospital, Durgapur.
Placements: Placements and future opportunities are available from my college. Many students from the college performed well in competitive exams and went on to pursue PG. You can check the IQ City achievements page on Instagram, where students from my college have secured high ranks and opportunities in institutes like AIIMS and other reputed medical colleges in Kolkata and other states. Overall, IQ City Medical College is a good medical college, and you can definitely do your MBBS from here while getting a balanced academic and campus experience.
Infrastructure: As I am currently an MBBS student, my experience here has been fairly good. They provide basic exposure and infrastructure which are required during our MBBS curriculum. The gym available on campus is good, which is a plus for students who like to stay active. There are sports facilities as well, such as cricket and football, but some infrastructure could be improved, especially the basketball court, which needs fixing and maintenance. Hostels are good and well-maintained. Now, there are different hostels for different years, and they also take good care of students' complaints way better than before.
Faculty: The professors are overall good and supportive, and many faculty/tutors are caring towards students. Like in most medical colleges, a few professors are strict, especially regarding academics and discipline in the classroom. Curriculum is strictly followed as per NMC guidelines, and exams are conducted from time to time. The difficulty level is good for the WBUHS exam, which is conducted at the end of every year (proof exams). Don't worry, there are no additional fees or examination Charges like Sanaka and other private colleges in Bengal.
Other: Regarding campus culture, junior and senior interaction is generally non-toxic, which creates a comfortable environment. However, because different batches are located in different buildings, there isn't a lot of daily interaction between juniors and seniors. The festivals and cultural events that are organised every year are amazing. They are well organised and give students a good break from their day-to-day academic life.
