A:

WBUHS provides admission to candidates based on national or university-level entrance exam scores. The university considers NEET-UG, NEET-PG, NEET-SS, WBJEE, etc. for admission to specific courses. WBUHS also conducts a written test for admission to BSc, MSc, BPT, MPT and other programmes. Candidates have to fulfil both eligibility and selection requirements to get a seat in the university.

Q:   Can I apply for admission at WBUHS with 60% in Class 12?

Good campus with a peaceful hostel environment and surrounded by nature.
Placements: There is a good opportunity for house staff. After the internship, the college takes 60–70 students from a 125-student batch based on their academic performance throughout MBBS. It is actually good compared to other Government colleges in West Bengal. House staff get almost Rs. 61,000, and after the current DA announced by the West Bengal government, they get around Rs. 70,000. MBBS students have to do a compulsory internship with a Rs. 42,000 salary per month. The internship is on a rotational basis. Everyone gets the opportunity to work in all departments of the hospital.
Infrastructure: There are separate hostels for boys and girls, including accommodation for junior, senior, intern, and house staff, along with a DNB building. Juniors get shared rooms for two students. Seniors and interns get single rooms, while interns have shared attached washrooms. Each hostel has its own canteen. There are common rooms with indoor games and outdoor grounds available. In the hostel, students can install their own Wi-Fi connection from outside providers. Lecture theatres are well-maintained and air-conditioned.
Faculty: All teachers and HODs are helpful. They also support students in ICMR research if anyone is interested. Semester exams are tough as they are internal assessments, but the main exam is the professional exam at the end of the year. The passing criteria are 50 percent, with the 40–60 rule applicable. It means 40 percent in theory and 60 percent in practical exams are required to pass.
Other: The internship duty hours are hectic and can be improved. Although they teach about the real medical system in India. There are fests, freshers, farewells, convocation, Banibandana (Saraswati Puja), and scholarships for students with more than 60 percent marks (subject to conditions such as family income below 2 lakh per annum). It also hosts week-long cricket, football, and badminton tournaments. Many other sports activities throughout the year.

B.Sc. in Nursing - Batch of 2026

Helpful faculty, good labs, and strong nursing training.
Placements: 70–90% of students are placed through campus placements. The package ranges from 2 LPA to 3.5 LPA. The average package is around 2.8–3 LPA. Mainly Apollo, Fortis, TATA, BM Birla Hospital, and KGH recruit students. In this course, an internship is mandatory, and because of this. 100% of students have their internship at KGH, JNM Hospital, and Monoroma Hospitex. After this course, students are mainly posted as Staff Nurse, Community Health Nurse, OT Nurse, Pediatric Nurse, and ICU Nurse.
Infrastructure: The college has advanced classrooms with smart boards and clean classrooms with high-speed Wi-Fi. It has advanced laboratories like Fundamentals Lab, Advanced Lab, Computer Lab, Community Lab, and OBG Lab. College provides advanced library facilities with well-stocked nursing books and research materials. Hostel rooms are cleaned daily by housekeeping staff. They are equipped with beds, study tables, chairs, and fans. The quality of food in the hostel is average.
Faculty: Faculty members of this college are helpful, supportive, and knowledgeable. Most teachers are well qualified in nursing. They explain theoretical and practical concepts simply and clearly. The B.Sc. Nursing curriculum is followed as per the guidelines of the Indian Nursing Council. It includes both theoretical and practical training, regular hospital postings, theory hours, and internships. The semester examinations are moderately difficult. The pass percentage is generally high, around 95–99.5%.
Other: I chose B.Sc. Nursing because it offers a healthcare career and provides opportunities to serve people. I wish for more advanced labs, skill development programs, and increased placement opportunities. The college organizes annual cultural programs, seminars, health awareness programs, and other events. The campus is eco-friendly and well-connected by road and rail. Scholarships are available for eligible students according to government and institutional guidelines.

B.Sc. in Perfusion Technology - Batch of 2029
Offered by IQ City Medical College

Infrastructure is good but faculty members are not.
Placements: They actually provide a 1-year internship of 1 year compulsory for all courses from B.Sc. to MBBS. But the monthly stipend is very low like they mentioned Rs. 2500 per month in the internship. But if we manage that, there's also a thing that there is no guarantee that they will provide you placement. You have to find that.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is great at IQ City Medical College. The main point is that the college is not situated in the middle of the city. It's actually outside of the city and that's why transportation is expensive or time-consuming. Otherwise campus is good. The hostel is also good case they charge more than outside hostels. The canteen's food is also good.
Faculty: Faculty are knowledgeable, but they are not that supportive of students. My friends experienced that if you need something urgently or you have an emergency, they will take you through the rules mentioned in the book. Most of the time, they don't want to understand our problems. Semester exams are okay, not that difficult, but from this year the final exam will be difficult. In that case, we will have to go out of the city for the exam, and the question paper will be prepared by the WBUHS board.
Other: I chose this course because I wanted to be associated with medical professions. I wanted to help those in need. If the practical exposure were more than it would be great. Events are almost okay.

Review of WCON educational facilities.
Placements: Staff nurse jobs, nursing tutor roles, and clinical instructor jobs were provided to students based on merit. Around 80% of students got placed in the B.Sc. Nursing course offered by Woodlands College of Nursing located in Bhasa.
Infrastructure: The college had good food and security. All labs were perfect for gaining knowledge.
Faculty: Teachers were helpful and knowledgeable. They had a lot of experience and supported students in improving their knowledge. They were very supportive, understood what was best for students, and guided them in improving themselves. They provided good practical knowledge to students and improved the quality of learning. They helped students become disciplined and supported them with placements and training in their course.
Other: College conducts a college week every year. They also conducted graduation ceremonies, Nurses Day celebrations, Yoga Day celebrations, seminars, and workshops for student development. Students were allowed to take part in competitions held during the college week.

Satisfied with my college.
Placements: Top roles offered in my course are senior president, junior president, medical officer, house staff/House surgeon, postgraduate president, teaching career, research associate/clinical researcher. Students get internships in our own college after completing 4.5 years.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is not better but good. The college needs to make the infrastructure better like, hostels should be clean. In lab , some instruments are not available. They need to provide more microscopes for the experiments. Canteen facilities are available on campus. Sports and games are also organised, but there is no such place in our college to play games.
Faculty: Faculty members are good and very helpful. They are always ready to help students. They are well-qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching methods are good. The semester exams are not so tough. It is totally based on the syllabus. Those who have studied can pass the exam.
Other: Every year our college organises a fest for us. Events are also organised.

I am satisfied with the faculty members, infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: The lowest salary is Rs. 40,000 and the highest is Rs. 60,000. This one is a medical college not a company. Most students got their internship in the same college where they completed their course. Doctors are always offered top roles. They are real heroes who save the lives of humans and animals.
Infrastructure: Labs are providing a good facility. Instruments are available. In the classroom there is smart board or a projector-based system and AC is also provided. The library is there in the college premises in good condition. There is AC available and silence is always maintained. Books are also available. Students can borrow the book for study.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful and their teaching quality is good. It makes the students ready. The semester is a little bit tough. Sometimes students get nervous during their practical exam and it is very common. The semester is totally based on the syllabus. The passing percentage is overall good.
Other: I chose the path of medicine to turn my father's dreams into reality.
