Review of North Bengal Medical College, Darjeeling.
Placements: Many students prefer to pursue PG after completion of the course. Many students get job offers. The average package offered is 7 LPA. Internships are mandatory in government hospitals. Roles offered are JR and medical officer. The private hospital offers an attractive salary.
Infrastructure: Facilities are okay. Labs have all the required instruments and devices for practical experience. The library is also present, and it is good. Wi-Fi facility is available with limited data. There is a sports ground. Overall, it's quite good.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. But some teachers do not teach well. The course curriculum is according to the NMC. It provides fundamental knowledge of medicine. The pass percentage is around 85 percent. Semester exams are very subject-specific.

If you have many options and no financial problem, you can go to another option.
Placements: 40 percent of students got placed from my course. No package given, only a salary of Rs. 12000 per month. No top company hires from our college. A physiotherapist has a great role but no role in our lives. Our college could not provide any placement. Our internship does not give any salary.
Infrastructure: There is a library, labs, and Wi-Fi, but only for teachers. You can use the library as a student, labs are used only for practical time. There are no facilities in the hostel, hotels are used only by hospital staff and nurses. There is a canteen with only tea and coffee.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, but sometimes they do not understand our personal difficulties, and they mock them, especially girls. Be aware of this. The BPT course under WBUHS is very good in teaching. Average students can upto 60 percent. The BPT course has 4years and a 6-month internship.
Other: In BPT, there is an opportunity to establish myself and to be independent. You can start your own clinic or own business. In our course, we have to clear things, infrastructure, syllabus, and teaching materials properly. In college, we go on trips and picnics every year. From December 19 to 25, the college organised cultural and sports events.

Oldest medical college in Asia and still number one in West Bengal, though it needs improvement.
Placements: In our batch, there are 250 students. There is no direct placement. After 4.5 years in MBBS, you work as an intern, where you receive a stipend that depends on the college in which you are posted. On average, it is nearly equal to Rs. 40,000 per month.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is average. Wi-Fi and AC are available in the library. Classrooms have AC and projectors. Labs are average, as some of the instruments become non-functional. The hostel is also average, and the girls' hostel accommodation is not proper till now. Mess and canteen food are good overall.
Faculty: Some teachers are helpful, but not all. However, all of them are well qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is good overall. The curriculum is relevant. The difficulty level is moderate. It depends on the department. On average, it is around 70%.
Other: It is my dream to be a doctor. I am really passionate about the course. The best thing is the smile that a doctor can bring to hopeless people. Safety and security should increase.

Follow and listen to your passion.
Placements: As this is a medical college, 100 percent got placed here, some got good placement, some got medium. The highest package offered in our college is 50 LPA. The lowest package is 30 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Apollo, Manipal, etc.
Infrastructure: The facilities and infrastructure available in our course are free Wi-Fi, 3D labs, unlimited resources, HD classrooms, and a big library where each type of book is present. The quality of the hostel is very good, they provide double room facilities, and a clean room. Everything is nice. Food quality and quantity are both nice.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is very good, providing 24/7 teaching guidance. This course curriculum is relevant, it makes the student industry-ready. Semesters are really difficult. Pass percentage is less than 50 percent. To pass, you have to study hard.

Really good college in WB.
Placements: Placements were good but not according to proper choices, as the people who were the closest to the management were given proper places. Rest of the things were good, and the salary was good. I left the job because it was far away from me. The bond penalty was Menace for 5 LPA.
Infrastructure: Totally the best in West Bengal, and the hostel was too good. The people come here get single rooms and get bonded to each other easily. Hostels were clean but the mess food was absolute mess and better to avoid here for eating and eat outside for good.
Faculty: Faculty members were good. Labs were the best here. The best thing was lab, and proper equipment was available. They were really good for people to learn. Faculty members were good in some departments and menacing in others. It was totally good for students.
Other: Campus life was too good.

It's a great college with great teachers.
Placements: It gives a great placement because it’s a government medical college with 4.5 years of MBBS and 1 year of compulsory internship you have to do. You also have a great opportunity to do MS/MD, which is also a developed portion with a great system.
Infrastructure: Here the course is MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery), a great course for which a lot of students dream and do everything for it. You have to crack the NEET UG exam with a good rank for admission in this college. Here you will get college after 1st year, which is also great.
Faculty: Here the faculty are osam and better than another college in West Bengal because the study environment really affects the study very well. A lot of good NEET PG results come from this institution due to the faculty, curriculum, and exams for MBBS.
Other: No .
