    My wonderful college review
Learning Experience: So basically I am pursuing the course called bachelor of commerce honours from school of Open learning, Delhi University. This course is very important for the commerce background student as it teach them the use of commerce in our daily life . It also give impact on our career, if a student get knowledge contain in the course he/she will achieve success in no time.
Placements: About the placement is good and bad at same time . As a sol students they don't attend regular classes so there are no that much placement support.
Faculty: The faculty of sol is quite decent. They are easy to aproch or I can say they aproch to student easily too. They all are highly qualified educator and their teaching skills is also great. Bcom h course is divided in the semesters . 1 year contain 2 semester so 3 years contain total 6 semester.
Course Support: Course support the student who decently study. As the course is basically includ the practically knowledge of whatever they do . If the student grabe the technique they will succeed.

Good Course , but self learning is must & no practical exposure
Learning Experience: My experience with the B.com (hons) course has been decent overall. the subjects included like income tax , GST, and other finance related are usefull and help in future jobs . pros - internal assessment are held online and carry almost 30% weightage of each subject and these are in MCQ format so it is easier to uderstand topics and improve marks . Cons - lectures are not availble online - Most of the time server Doesn't work well - there is no practical learning of excel , tally ....etc
Placements: there is no on -off campus placements in SOL. Also we don't get any practical knowledge during the course . So , we have to apply for jobs on our own and learn new skills like Tally , excel separtely because it is very difficult to find a job with only SOL degree in hands . even if get one , the salary is usually low . so we have to improve our skills by doing any others courses in between this like CA , CS , CMA , CPA , ACCA etc.....
Faculty: there are offline classes every sunday in each semester but honestly, they are total timewaste . because neither teachers teach properly nor students pay attention its just a chaos. and even they not provide the online lectures . course structure is Ok , but in every semester there are atleast 1-2 subjects were there which don't help us much in real life like EVS etc. still we have to study them just to pass.
Course Support: from the last month march2025 they have started sending books to our home which is very good step But earlier we had to go there centres as per appointment to collect books every semester but still we get 3-4 books out of 6-7 subjects in every semester same issue faced by everyone. there are no recorded or online lectures. if there is any techincal issue , there is no online support ,we have to go to there centres again which is very time consuming process.

    Time managing and cost friendly
Learning Experience: There was't that much career impact because if it is not necessary we don't have to go the classes. We can directly go to the university for giving paper.
Placements: There is not that much placement opportunities
Faculty: The course structure and fees was pretty nice as it was really affordable.

Class facilities are the best, and the environment helps students focus on studies.
Placements: In this college, around 78% of students meet the cutoff, and from those, approximately 64% secure placements through this course. The lowest package offered is INR 2 LPA, while the highest goes beyond INR 16 LPA, with an average of around INR 5-6 LPA. Tata is a top recruiting company, and about 57% of students receive internship opportunities, with Tata also being one of the companies offering internships. The roles are mainly in management, accounts, and audit.
Infrastructure: The college provides labs, classrooms, and a library, which are helpful for students. There is a paid canteen that offers fast food like samosas, chow mein, bread pakoras, etc., at reasonable prices, but the food is not healthy for students. Unfortunately, there are no medical facilities.
Faculty: Most teachers are experienced and knowledgeable but they struggle to connect with students and understand their interests due to their age. As a result, many students skip classes, finding them boring. The course curriculum is relevant, but the engagement level needs improvement.

DU SOL tuition fee ranges between INR 500 - INR 20,000 for various courses. This fee is exclusive of other components, such as examination fee, application fee, etc. Therefore, SOL DU is not at all costly, in comparison to other open universities/ institutes.
