The online/distance degrees offered by the Centre for Distance and Online Education at Annamalai University are valid. Previously, the University Grants Commission (UGC) did not approve its courses starting from 2015. However, Annamalai University DDE  received relief from the Madras High Court in an order dated 21.01.2023. Subsequently, following a reassessment by the UGC, Annamalai DDE achieved a qualifying score of 3.38, which led to extending the validity of its programmes until 2027.

The total course fee for the BSc at Annamalai University ranges around INR 10,300 - INR 4.5 lakh. Candidates willing to seek admission to any of the BSc courses are shortlisted on the basis of their marks in Science subjects in previous qualifying degree/ exam. Candidates seeking admission to Annamalai University can avail of Government Scholarships. To avail of these scholarships, candidates need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria set by the University. Given below are the different types of scholarships offered at Annamalai University: 

1. First Graduate Tuition Fee Concession: Under this scheme, the government of Tamil Nadu will grant tuition fee concessions to the candidates who will become the first graduate in a family. From the year 2013-14 onwards the tuition fee concession for first graduates has also been extended to the students of Annamalai University. 
2. Post Matric Scholarship: Under this category, the Government has ordered to grant of Post Matric Scholarship to SC/SCA/ST candidates, whose parental annual income is less than INR 2.50 Lacs per annum and for SC/SCA converted Christians whose parental annual income is less than INR 2 Lacs per annum.
3. Higher Education Special Scholarship: This scholarship is only eligible for the hostel students belonging to SC / SCA / ST and Converted Christian categories, whose annual income from all sources should not exceed more than INR 2.50 Lacs per annum.
4. BC/MBC/DNC Categories Scholarship: This is valid for students belonging to BC/MBC/DNC categories whose parent’s income from all sources is not more than INR 2 Lacs per annum.
