You can take this college if you have a good financial background, as facilities are good.
Placements: My batch is 2028 B.Tech Computer Engineering. The placements at Somaiya are decent. The highest package is 51 LPA, and around 75–85% of students get placed. Top companies visit the campus. The most helpful thing is that the college offers a semester-long internship. It means in the final year you can do a 6-month internship without coming to college or attending exams. You are graded based on your internship.
Infrastructure: The campus is the best thing about Somaiya. All facilities are available, but in the college building Wi-Fi is present and there is no network for SIM except Vi. There are 2 hostels and 2 mess facilities, both are good but only vegetarian food is served. There is a clinic in the hostel, and ambulances are always ready for any emergency. There are around 3–4 mess facilities in the Somaiya campus.
Faculty: Faculty is good and helpful. 75% attendance is compulsory. Each semester goes for around 4 months. After the odd semester there is 1 month vacation, and after the even semester there is 3 months vacation. You need to score 40% of the topper’s marks to pass. There is separate lab passing with the same 40% rule.
Other: Fests at Somaiya are very good. There is a separate sports complex building for sports like squash, pickleball, swimming, badminton, etc.

Good faculty and relevant curriculum
Placements: Placement percentage is good. The highest package offered was 58 LPA from Google. Some of the top recruiting companies include TCS, Infosys, Cognizant, Capgemini, JPMC, and Barclays. The top roles offered included Software Developer, System Engineer, and Data Analyst.
Infrastructure: Hostel mess and canteen food are decent, and classrooms and labs are air-conditioned. These facilities help students study and complete practical work effectively. The hostel facilities are decent, with clean rooms and basic amenities for students. The food quality of the mess is good.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful and supportive. Most faculty members explain concepts clearly and support students with doubts, assignments, and projects, resulting in good teaching quality overall. The course curriculum is fairly relevant and includes core subjects.

The KJSCE experience at 2019 to 22.
Placements: 100 percent of student placement with the highest packages coming from Microsoft about 18 LPA. The lowest was around 6LPA with Samsung. Microsoft, ZS, Deloitte, Samsung, Morgan Stanley and Edelweiss were among the top placement companies and were well represented by the placement office, which helped them through it all.
Infrastructure: I did not use the hostel much but it was said there were 4 people in a room with sufficient space and room alongside storage space. The mess is really good, no matter which hostel you stayed at. The college had 2 buildings, both of which had fantastic infrastructure and the latest up to date equipment.
Faculty: The teaching staff and facility were really good. All teachers were helpful and qualified in their fields. The curriculum was developed with feedback and the constant evolution of industry experience. The exams were difficult with practical and theoretical components to make us ready for the future.

Review of K J Somaiya College of Engineering, Mumbai.
Placements: Btech placements are good, with 10 LPA for Btech, 13 LPA for computers, and 11 LPA for IT. The top roles offered were SDE, with the lowest package being 4 LPA. Top recruiting companies were JP Morgan, Goldman Sachs, and Edelweiss. A compulsory internship is there in the college.
Infrastructure: All types, except single sharing, all other options are there in the hostel. WiFi is quite slow, food is good, only vegetarian and Jain options are there, as college follows Gandhian rules and regulations, medical facilities are absent , sports and games in campus is good and they are of Olympic level with proper equipment.
Faculty: The faculty is excellent, especially for computer-related departments and the marking scheme is also very lenient. Scoring good marks in the exam is really easy and not that difficult. The course and curriculum are updated and project-based learning is there.
Other: I chose this course because no other good options were there except this , and placement and exposure I get here are really good.

KJ Somaiya College for Engineering is worth it.
Placements: About 80-90% of the students who sit for placements get placed in college. The highest salary package offered last year was 51.02 LPA by Microsoft. The average salary package offered is around 7 LPA. Top companies like JP Morgan, Barclays, etc., visit the campus for recruitment. There are a lot of companies that provide internships. Roles offered are software developer and data analyst.
Infrastructure: Our college provides Wi-Fi, air-conditioned classrooms, multiple computer labs, and a huge library. It is a very nice well-maintained campus. It has got an athletic ground which carries all sports throughout the year. We have a big cricket/ football ground. Hostel has a basketball court.
Faculty: Teachers are well qualified. But they are very moody and arrogant. The course curriculum is relevant but involves too much theory. There are three main exams IA, ISE, and ESE. We have 2 internal assessments of 20 marks, and one semester exam of 30 marks, and one end-semester exam of 100 marks.

Dissatisfied with the placements this year, good campus and hostels, good exposure .
Placements: The placements are pretty decent for computer and IT branch. But for EXTC and other branches it is very hard for them to be placed. If you are from computer and IT, you can expect a package of 9-10 LPA, if you perform well and have the skills. Many companies that are in Fintech come to hire. But the placement percentage is decreasing year by year, don't know if it is due to recession or not.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is very good. It is one of the biggest campus in Mumbai and the campus has everything that is needed. The sports and extracurricular activities are too good here. The hostel is good too. It has all the facilities and it is pretty decent. The Spandan and Maitreiy hostels are the best. The food offered in them and the services given are good. The Polytechnic hostels arena isnt that good enough but their fees is less too.
Faculty: The faculty members here are a mixed bag, some are very good to some are very mediocre. Curriculum is very much updated as compared to Mumbai University syllabus. And I love the curriculum here. The semester exams are a bit difficult so start studying before a week and everything would be fine. Here most of the students do get pass and very few get back .
Other: The crowd is decent here. There are various events and feats throughout the year from teach fests to cultural fests and seminars to programming talks, everything here is very good. Your campus life will be amazing here. The campus itself is very big and it has all the facilities. You would enjoy here.
