JEE Main City Intimation Slip 2026: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will release the JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip online on the official website - jeemain.nta.nic.in, in the first week of January 2026. Candidates will get to know the city where the NTA will allot the exam centre to them. Alonwith the exam city, NTA also allots the JEE Main exam date on which the candidate has to appear for the JEE Main 2026 exam. Thus, via the JEE Main 2026 advanced city intimation slip, the candidates will also get to know their allotted JEE Main 2026 exam date.

It must be kept in mind that the JEE Main city intimation slip will only have the allotted exam city and not the exam centre. The JEE Main 2026 exam centre name, address and slot time will be allotted to the candidates via the JEE Main 2026 admit card, which will be available to the candidates 3 to 4 days before the exam.

To check and download the JEE Main 2026 exam city slip, candidates have to visit the official JEE Main 2026 website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, and click on the link for the session 1 city intimation slip. Will NTA Change JEE Main Exam Date 2026?

NTA has confirmed via their FAQs that the JEE Main session 1 exam date 2026 will not be changed under any circumstances. Even if there is a clash of dates between JEE Main and other state level entrance exams, the dates of JEE Main will remain the same.

How to Download JEE Main City Intimation Slip?

Candidates can check the process below to download the JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip:

  1. Visit the official website of JEE Main 2026 - jeemain.nta.nic.in.
  2. Now click on the link for JEE Main 2026 session 1 advanced city intimation slip.
  3. On the next page, the JEE Main 2026 login window will open. Here, enter the JEE Main 2026 application number and password to login.
  4. Under the login, candidates can check the JEE Main 2025 city intimation slip link. Click on the link.
  5. The JEE Main 2026 city intimation slip showing the allotted city will appear on the screen. Check and download the slip.

JEE Main 2026 Session 1 Exam Date Allotment via City Intimation Slip

JEE Main is held over multiple days, and on each day, the exam has two shifts. Via the JEE Main city intimation slip, NTA not only allots the exam city but also the JEE Main exam date. However, the shift is not allotted to them. The shift allotted is made available with the JEE Main admit card.

Importance of JEE Main 2026 City Intimation Slip: What to Do After Intimation Slip is Released

NTA releases the JEE Main city intimation slip to let the candidates know about the exam city where the exam centre will be allotted to the candidates well in advance. This is done so that the candidates can make travel arrangements to the allotted exam city.

As soon as the JEE Main city intimation slip 2026 is released, candidates must take the following actions:

  1. Check the exam city and date allotted to you in the JEE Main 2026 exam city intimation slip.
  2. Next, check the distance of the city allotted to you from your home.
  3. As per the distance, make travel arrangements well in advance in such a manner that you reach the exam centre on the allotted exam date.

JEE Main 2026 Admit Card

Note that the JEE Main city intimation slip is not the same as the JEE Main admit card. A candidate cannot use the city intimation slip at the exam centre to take entry. The city intimation slip is just an intimation of the allotted exam city and exam date. Apart from that will have no use.

On the other hand, the JEE Main 2026 admit card is one of the most crucial documents. It is issued to the candidates 3-4 days before their allotted exam date. The admit card contains the allotted exam date, time, exam centre name and address. Apart from that, important exam day guidelines and instructions are also made available with the JEE Main admit card 2026. All the important instructions on the admit card are to be followed by the candidates on the exam day.

The JEE Main 2026 admit card will act as proof of the candidate's identity. This document should b kept safe even after the exam is over as it will have importance in the counselling process too.
