B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering - Batch of 2027
3.8
3Placements4Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Very good college, infrastructure, freedom, and placements are satisfactory.
Placements: Around 80% of people are placed in my course. The highest package will be near and may be more than 1 crore depending on the batch; the lowest will be below 10 lacs; the average will be around 25 lacs. Google, Apple, IBM, Uber, and Microsoft are the top recruiting companies. Still, our batch didn't get an internship. I am in my 2nd year.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi is provided everywhere in libraries, classrooms, labs, and rooms; places are also hygienic and expect rooms, and in Mess, there is AC everywhere. Food is okay, as I am South Indian. I feel it is a bit tough to adjust to mess food here. But food in the canteen is quite okay. For sports and games, there are many facilities to learn, and each sport has its own place to play, and there will be workshops conducted for some games. There are very good gym facilities for sports and games. There is a good scope in IIT Bombay for exploring sports and games.
Faculty: Professors here are really helpful and well qualified; they clarify doubts after the class. Very interactive; some are really good; they will teach from the heart. Everyone has there own unique style of teaching. But in IIT Bombay, most of the things we have to figure out on our own, which is a bit of a tough task, but because of this, we learn many things like searching for information from various places, interacting with others, and dealing with situations. And coming to semester exams, some are quite hard, some are really hard that average stays around 5 marks for a whole of 25 marks on paper, and getting zero in exams becomes quite obvious after attempting many exams. Pass percentage depends on course; for really tough courses, it will be around 5% only.
Other: As far as I know at the time of joining for CSE, IIT Bombay is the best, so I joined. The best thing I can think of is that we don't need to put too much effort into finding a job; if we do really well in these 4 years, we get a decent-salary job. Coming to events and festivals, we can find many good events happening in various fields. And Mood is one of Asia's largest festivals, at which we have a lot of fun.

Everything is Good About IITB
Placements: IIT is known for its placements and the good career opportunities it provides to students. The highest package goes up to 4 crores per annum, while the lowest is 4 LPA. We get placements from MNCs like Google, Amazon, Flipkart, etc. Around 80% of students secure internships with these companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure and ambiance at IIT are among the best you can experience. We have IITB wireless available in most places on campus. The hostel rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food is good, catering to North Indian tastes, and the canteen offers affordable and quality options.
Faculty: The professors are very helpful and well-qualified. Tutorials and help sessions are conducted by teaching assistants to ensure that everyone can clear their doubts. The curriculum is relevant and prepares students for the industry. Semester exams are challenging, given that the campus is filled with top achievers from across India.
Other: Computer Science is a highly sought-after course in the market, and specifically, IITB CSE is in great demand. Most of the necessary software skills are taught in the college itself. Various events, such as Mood Indigo, the biggest fest in Asia, are held here.

Best college in India where we get huge amounts of Knowledge.
Placements: Placements are the best; we all want to be looked at. Placements here are great and have been experiencing largely unaffected growth in package. The highest package offered in the institute is 1.5 crore+, and the average goes up to INR 21 LPA, which is gate number. As far as chemical engineering is concerned, the average package goes around INR 18 to 19 LPA.
Infrastructure: Hostels here great to live in. The hostel experience is really memorable for any student. All hostels have 24?7 Wi-Fi access and connectivity. Hostel mess food is also far then that of the other college. Also, the hostels are quite safe and secure from the perspective of a girl students.
Faculty: The Faculty here is great. All the professors are highly educated and skilled. They are very punctual when it comes to lectures or assignment submissions. The courses here a bit tough, but they are worth studying. Though one may feel that Curriculum is outdated. Passing percentage in IIT Bombay is more.

Life experience at IIT Bombay: My Perspective.
Placements: There are at most 1700 students in my batch. I am in Aerospace department; in my batch, only 5% of students are in aerospace engineering. In Aerospace department, jobs opportunities are very few in private sector, but if we try on government side, we could get better jobs with good packages. Aerospace engineering jobs will be more enough if one wants to do in foreign countries. In IIT Bombay, the average package in aerospace engineering is 16 LPA. But there are other streams like mechanical, electrical, coding, etc. Apart from aerospace engineering, one can try in those areas too.
Infrastructure: The hostels in IIT Bombay are assigned by the hostel committee. In hostels, ragging has been strictly banned from many years. Every hostel has its own council and general secretaries, managers, etc. Many other activities take place in hostels during occasions, events, weekends, etc. general championship is the best part in every hostels history. In this, every hostel compete with other hostels in sports, cultural events, etc. Hospitality is maintained well in every hostel, and there is a support team where students can report their problems on the hostel's official website.
Faculty: Professors are very knowledgeable and helpful. They assign teaching assistants to help the students in tutorials, assignments, etc. And there is an app where we can find the uploaded lecture slides, assignments, reference books, etc. Students can convey their problems to professor directly via mails. They often don't stress students in any matters.

My amazing life at IIT Bombay .
Placements: Approximately 90–95% of students from my course were placed. The highest package offered was around 3 crore per annum, the lowest was about 12 lacs per annum, and the average package was around 16–17 lacs per annum. Top recruiting companies include Google, Amazon, and Microsoft. About 60% of students secure internships through placement cells with companies such as Brain & Co., P&G, Microsoft and L. E. K. The top roles offered were in engineering, management, and analytics.
Infrastructure: The civil engineering course at IIT Bombay benefits from modern infrastructure. Classrooms are equipped with projectors and screens, and specialized labs support hands-on learning. High-speed Wi-Fi is available campus-wide, and the Central Library offers extensive resources. Hostel facilities include newly renovated rooms with basic amenities, though some holder hostels (2 out of 16 hostels) have small and congested rooms. The mess serves a variety of meals with a changing monthly menu, though food quality can be consistent. The campus also provides medical services and sports facilities, including grounds for cricket, hockey, and football, as well as many indoor courts.
Faculty: The faculty for the Civil Engineering course at IIT Bombay is highly qualified and knowledgeable, with a strong hand in research and practical application. The teaching quality is excellent, incorporating both theoretical and practical elements. The curriculum is well-structured, equipping students with skills and knowledge needed for industry readiness. Semester exams vary in difficulty, but overall, they are challenging and fair. The pass percentage also varies from course to course and professor to professor.
Other: I chose the Civil Engineering course at IIT Bombay for its interdisciplinary opportunities and the extensive exposure it offers. The best aspects of the course include the flexibility to explore subjects outside the core discipline and the high-quality teaching by experienced faculty. The course is well-designed and comprehensive; any improvements would be minimal as it already meets high standards. The campus is vibrant, with numerous events and festivals like TechFest and Mood Indigo that foster a dynamic environment. Connectivity is excellent, and the campus surroundings, including the beautiful Sameer Hill and Powai Lake, enhance the overall experience. Scholarships are available for those in need. There are ample extracurricular activities, including sports and various student clubs, that contribute to a well-rounded educational and extracurricular experience.
